Led into shelfari, I thought this is a great place where I can finally inventory my books, which are lying all over the place, although I'm not really convinced why I should even. So that executing my will can be tidier? But, this is a great place to find what books are being read, and maybe what books I should be reading.

I'm unclear about expecting to see the writing in a movie. If a plot is missing in a movie then I want my money back. Perhaps it's just a more complex way of saying the movie is not like the book ? I just saw Beckett . Was the dialogue the writing ?

The movie screenplays are hardly ever like the book version of it. Actually if I read the book first, I get disappointed when I watch the movie afterwards. However with so many competing interests/ media, I have to settle for the quick fixes from movies at times. Also it depends on where I am. I love to read books when I am away from home but when I am at home, I prefer to watch TV and DVDs. When I travel, I hardly watch TV or movies. My therapist might need to help me figure out these subconscious choices of mine sometime.

Yes, I should also inventory my books which are also lying all over the place. I keep buying new ones as well even when I am hardly ever caught up with my reading for leisure. I think this has something to do with having to read almost endlessly at work five days a week. I only love to read my fun/ non-work books during long plane rides and/or when i am out of town. I get audio books as well so I can get through some books while driving to and from work. Not much accomplished though during a 7-mile commute. One of these days, I might have to branch out to electronic books (online) for pleasure reading so I can catch up. I also "cheat" by waiting for the movie/ TV version.

Lots of fun, interesting discussions going on at the group, Flips Flipping Pages. Filipino book lovers from all over the world may join. It’s a great place to wax about your favorite books/authors/genres, share book buying tips, and post book event announcements. See you there.
