Yeah. The Brumby books were my favorite as a kid! I collected quite a few of them over the years :)

So how was Brumbies of the Night ?- that is one of the newer brumby books - how do the newer ones (ie. after Son of the Whirlwind) compare to the older books?

So good to see you here too! Love your dog! Way cute. I have a black cat named Osiris. Somehow appropriate for my dark side.

One more thing - I have a large fluffy orange kitty, a small fluffy yellow dog, a curly orange dog and a orange and black stripped kitty - all matchy matchy.

Answer to your second question - yes the books are fabulous! I think my favorite was Moon Filly - which is, of course, one of the harder titles to find in hardcoever. I only have a soft cover version. Interesting how in the earlier books, the horses talk but in Moon Filly and later books, they don't. Thowra is such a great hero figure. Many people in the US don't know the Silver Brumby series but I think us Canadians are exposed to more Australian Lit as children. Did you read Hill's End?

Haha - funny profile - are you serious! I get my Silver Brumby books from various sources - Mostly E-Bay - but I am very picky - I want first printing first editions as much as possible. I have a few but several paperbacks too - some titles are hard to get - I also use Alibris and a few other on-line rare book sellers. Everyone I have delt with has been great and honest - I have some great copies. The best find was The Colt from Taparoo. The books come almost exclusively shipped from Australian sellers - one or two from Britain but for some reason, the British books turn out to be way more expensive - shipping is crazy from there. I havn't collected the newest books in the series. Have you read Ajax Golden Dog of the Australian Bush - another great Aussie animal story.
