Beleza ~ call me Bel

Beleza ~ call me Bel

I just created a group, "Going to the Library". Come take a look, even if you seldom use the library, you are welcome to visit.

I changed my user name to Beleza due to the Twilight jokes, it used to be Bella, however, I am not named after the person in those awful Twilight books. I was Bella a long time before she was even born!... more »

I liked Girl With the Dragon Tattoo. I actually liked it a lot once I got into it. But the beginning is pretty slow and I gave up on it the 1st time I tried reading it. Once it picked up, though, I was was hooked. I read all three books.

Even amongst my friends, that series is polarizing. But typically those who don't like it just couldn't stomach the violence. Something tells me you can deal with a little violence :)

Thank you Beleza! I am looking forward to the getting to know the group better. But you should know, I have recently started a little business from home painting furniture and finding good 'junk' and sometimes I can get lost in the process. I still read my books but my online presence might be lacking. Thanks again for the welcome.

    HI Beleza...
I got a little worried because I saw that a post of mine was removed a couple of days ago. Gosh, I sure hope I didn't say anything untoward or over the top? I just noticed it now and my stomach jumped trying to remember what I said. Hope you can post me back Beleza to let me know how I stand. Thanks...Rita

    Hi,

Your right, it is great we are all different. The Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister might have been a little of a let down after I read the Hunger Games Trilogy. I am currently reading Lisa See. If you like Amy Tan, you will love her books. I have read Shanghai Girls, Dreams of Joy, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan and just finished Flower Net. Anyway, good reading! Great to talk to others about the books I have read.

I was not all that impressed with Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. I did read it. I also tried to get into Mirror Mirror but I just did not find it that interesting. I think I will skip the book and go directly to the movie.

Hey Beleza...first of all I just wanted to tell you that your Library Group is on fire...lol. Just being silly again but it is alot of fun and very relaxed. Also, I wanted to tell you that next week (March 7th) I will be going to visit my daughter in L.A. until almost the end
of the month. Probably won't be on the computer much so that is why I figured I better let you know. I will miss you all....still have a few days to go yet.

    Hi Beleza,

Thank you for following my work (LAKE CHARLES, THE BLUE CHEER) and my reading lists. My new crime novel, ASK THE DICE, has been published by Crossroad Press. I have no other connection with CP, and they’ve also published novels by Tom Piccirilli, Billie Sue Mosiman, John Lutz, and Ed Gorman.

ASK THE DICE has earned 16 Four- & Five-star ratings on Goodreads, and is priced at $3.99. Readers in their reviews have said they like ASK THE DICE’s voice and unusual plot twists. Spur Award winning author Larry Sweazy writes in his 5-star Amazon review: “[Ed] Lynskey delivers from start to finish with a stylish noir thriller.”

Please consider downloading ASK THE DICE to enjoy on your favorite e-reader. I’ve included links to Kindle and Nook below.

If you prefer to read from traditional books, the paper version will be available shortly. Please let me know, and I’ll get in touch when it is.

ASK THE DICE’s description appears there. Thank you for your continued interest in my work.

    Best regards,

    Ed Lynskey

    ASK THE DICE synopsis:

Over the past two decades, Tommy Mack Zane has faithfully worked as a contract killer for Watson Ogg, the Washington, D.C. crime boss. Now middle age creeping up finds Tommy Mack edgy, jaded, and weary of his grisly trade. As he contemplates retirement, he is framed for the murder of Mr. Ogg’s niece. Desperate, Tommy Mack enlists the aid of his friends, the mercurial D. Noble and burly Esquire to do battle with Mr. Ogg and his mercenary “dark suits.” A new, better life filled with his passions for poetry and jazz drives Tommy Mack to the slambang climax where a few dark secrets about his past are unearthed.
