Sunflowery

Sunflowery

I am a stay-at-home, homeschooling mom of four with a direct sales business (kitchen tools). I love to read - currently my favorites are fantasy and science fiction, but I also like mystery and christian fiction. I have read thousands of books, so my bookshelves are continuously being added to (both real and virtual).

Vampires, Witches & Were’s all that
would like to invite you to participate in the ABC contest starting on July 1, 2008.
I will post a thread that has the letters of the ABC's list, then start your own thread for example mine would be Sherry's ABC's and list the books that you read with those letters has the first letter in any title of book, it doesn't have to be in the genre either. Each person will be responsible for sending me their points via the group email at vampireswitchesweresallthat@yahoo.com. For every book you read during the time period (until the next letters are posted) you will receive 10 points in the email you must list the title, author, and pages so that if there is tie, we will use page count to break the tie. Everyone is eligible to win, even admin's as a third party will be keeping track of the points for me...so post the books you read...I will post the first letters on July 1.

    As always happy reading..
Show me the books he loves and I shall know the man
far better than through mortal friends.

For Meet, Greet, and Be Sweet: Honestly, I would start with the first book. It gives the main character's back story and they do flow better when read in order. They are easy to read, laid back books with great descriptive language. I felt they really are well written and the characters are great.

Thanks for joining the Suspense & Thrillers group! Love having new members. Though it might be on page 4 of the discussions, there is a spot for introductions as well as members who’d like updates, so jump in at any time.

Also know there are like 13 pages of discussions. When you go to the group’s home page, click on “view all discussions” From there, scroll down and you’ll see 1 of 13. Click on the next page to view the remaining posts. Please feel free to add a comment or two. We’d love to hear what you think.

Each month, we have a group read for members. April's Group Read will be MONKEEWRENCH by P. J. Tracy, May's Group Read is THE DOLLMAKER by Amanda Stevens (The discussion will be lead by the author - yeah!) and June's Group Read will be A WICKED SNOW by Gregg Olsen. If you can get a copy of those, please join us in a group discussion.

We also have Buddy Reads where one member will ask if others would like to join in to read a book. Works like the Group Reads, but on a smaller scale. One of these will include “2060: The Newton Prophecies” by Keith Katsikas. As a special treat, the group is getting a discount on the book. You’ll find the discussion about this book under the list of discussions.

We also have something new. It’s a Suspense & Thriller Challenge. More can be found on the group or at http://suspense-thriller-challenge.blogspot.com/ We even have a Yahoo Group for this at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/suspense-thriller-challenge/

If you have any questions, please let me know!

So glad you joined Guilty (Reading) Pleasures! I thought it was about time we had a place to talk about those books we love to hate the fact that we read and own. I think there's always room to expand our lowbrow reading lol.

I can't believe it but we left Austin 10 years ago! We left and moved to Phoenix for a few years before moving back to D/FW in 2001. I can't believe it's been so long since we lived in Austin!
