    sorry for getting back so late.I think we have a lot in common.Thanks for being a member of the Maclean club.Talking of WW2, there is a must read for you - it is Hans Helmut Kirst's "The Night of the Generals"(It was made into a film by Sam Spiegel in 1967 and reunited Peter O' Toole and Omar Sharif after their 'Lawrence of Arabia' triumph).The book is a masterpiece; you'll find it in Kolkatta surely.

    Roy, I read your list in the 1001 group and wanted to check out your shelf. Wow! You have read a great many of the classics, even some I haven't had the time to pick up yet. I also was reminded of a few books I hadn't put on my shelf by going through yours.
