Thanks. I hope her plans for after graduation pans out. She really wants to make it to England and Scotland ... roots and all that. Apparently, the McDaniels covers the Scottish end of her heritage.

Right now she's in a panic about which college to apply to and trying to keep her grades up. The school has put out the preliminary standings and preliminary G.P.A. They are both looking very good but the competition will be fairly desperate this coming year. If she is able to keep the standing, she automatically is accepted to any Texas university. She's aiming pretty high right now. The colleges and universities she's looking at require a high grade point average and all but one has a 76% to 91% student body that graduated out of the top 10% of their high school class.

She's taking several summer classes and has six pieces of homework that are due on the first day of class. Our "vacation" this summer will be to visit prospective colleges. Fun ... Unfortunately, this means that she had to turn down offers from Oxford and Cambridge for some summer programs. Oh well. They were rather expensive anyway.

I'm kind of curious as to what answers you'll get from your newest discussion topic. Is there a way to broadcast the question to all members? Sometimes I wonder if people check their groups ...

Wow! a Sci-Fi author. Tell me... where do you get the ideas to write your books.
Personally I get them from my friends but different writers have different methods
    I guess.

    Hay Stuart,

Thanks for dropping a line. Do you know when the next "installment" of Project U.L.F. will be released yet. I'm REALLY looking forward to it. I have been telling my friends that read Sci-Fi to read it.

I saw 'Blink' on your to books to read list. I just finished it and wanted to share my review with you:
This is a well-written book on the subject of split-second decision making. It is simply written and uses familiar examples of people, products and situations. Each technical example is explained so it is easily understood by a "lay reader". Each chapter has supporting evidence at the end of the book. I was very impressed with this book and would definitely rate it a must-read. Gladwell's 'Tipping Point' goes on my to be read shelf.
    Have a great day!

    Good morning!
Thanks for your recent note. I've applied for a job as a marriage commissioner (an officiant at civil weddings) and am busily trying to prepare for the interview. I have to memorise a marriage ceremony, so I will write more when time permits. Wish me luck!

Just trying to stay in touch with my friends. I just love John Connolly's series. I also notice you read A Christmas Carol....one of my favorite classics. I just made myself a promise to read/re-read at least one classic a month. Also noticed you have Meg on your Plan to Read list. Since you rated Jaws with 5 stars, you may be disappointed in Meg. Don't let that stop you from reading it...you may just like it! Take care.

Eh ... if the discussions in the group become a chore, you'll know.
    The groups are for fun.
I like to keep it that way for myself ... selfish old me.
