You know I was kidding about the not being so lazy, right?
You be as lazy as you wish, it's summer. :)

I wouldn't blame you for skipping Finn, I could never finish it, the first chapter was long and boring, and the second was not better. I wonder why this author, out of nowhere, decided Finn's story wasn't finished proprely by Mark Twain...

So, what books will take the place of Finn then?

Hope you are having a good summer so far - even though officialy, it's not summer yet :) - enjoy your reading!

Take care till nex time, Smoltz.

There's no such thing as a coincidence ^^

Let me know what you think of Finn... and don't be so lazy next time :D

Generalizations and assumptions are so easely done, anything that doesn't fit the mold seems to get that same treatment.

As for the kind of humor we're talking about, sometime, I can take it (and actualy enjoy it!) but sometimes not... it's hormonal I think... :D

You know, I hate to admit it but I realy don't have a favorite director, I dont usualy think in terms of who's behind this movie - maybe I'll start doing it now that you've got me thinking about it! - but who's in it and that's not always a good thing because some actors can be very desappointing sometimes, like Johnny Depp in Chocolat.

Are you done with finals? Hope you are finaly having time to read!
Take care till next time :)

Isn't Dogma one of his most controvertial too? I remember when it came out, there was a lot of talk in the christian community (especialy the catholic) about how this movie was basicaly making fun of the christian beliefs. I always wondered if that was true?
His genre is more of a guy's humor isn't it? Not that I'm trying to be prejudiced but that was the impression I got from the previews of Silent Bob. What got you into his movies?

You have quite a list of "plan to read" books, most of them look... hmm... interesting, to say the least! Most of them I'd never heard of but the Gosple of the Flying Spaghetti Monster has a funny title!

I see you are reading My Boring A** Life(sounds like everyone's life at one point or en other!), how is it?

PS: isn't it funny that Shelfari will not even allow me to write a*s!?

Ok, good to know about the Moore books, I'll steer clear of them!

As for reading in French, it's my primary language, so let's say I tend to go back to it as much as I can... which is not very often... but I've started A very long Engagment and I'm hooked, it's facinating.

Spanish, hmm? I've been meaning to learn but have not been diciplined enough to do it yet. It's a beautiful language.

Good luck with the finals :)

Hi Smoltz, how did you like the Micheal Moore books? He seems to create a lot of controversy with his books/movies... I have yet to read/see any of them :)

The french version, I like better the original language if I can help it.
I started reading a book called Our Names about the origine of first and last names in diffrent society and how, when you come down to it, the inspirations for names are the same everywhere, with diffrent pronounciations but the same though behind it, interesting!

I've labored through the first chapter and can't go any further... I just can't get into Finn...
History and politics are pretty interesting actualy, well maybe not fore everyone but why not? As good as any subjects :)
I think I'll read "Un Long Dimanche de Fiancaille" (A Very Long Engagment) next, recomended -the movie was - by a friend of mine. We'll see how I fare with this one.

I fanaly finished and I have to say, the ending was better in the movie. You were right about it being a visual novel, the movie's images teinted my perseption of the caracters not a bad thing in this case :)
Marla has more to say in the novel, more of an active role, wich I liked. Overall, I enjoyed both very much.

What are you reading now that's worth taking a look at?

I am about half way trough the book and so far, I'm just as enthused by one than the other, It's such a quotable book, little bits just sticks to your brain. The movie was not my usual genre but I was pleasantly surprised by it. I'm looking forward to the ending since everyone says it's diffrent :)
