Hello. Here are a few details to give you a pen-picture of who I am and what I do;
I am both hunter and hunted in that I work in publishing and i also read a few books for pleasure when i'm not too manuscript-weary.
Until recently, I worked for a fantastic imprint called Capstone Publishing which is based in the UK. Capstone do business, self help and lifestyle books. In Jan 08 I am leaving to work for Headline (again in the UK), one of one of the world's largest and finest publishing outfits. Again, I'll be doing mainly business books with an eye on the personal development area as well. Naturally, I'm very excited.
I have been in publishing for 12 years, during which i'm chuffed to say i've personally been responsible for total sales of over half a million copies.
I am on Shelfari to list my own reading choices for the good of myself and mankind generally, and also happy to field questions/thoughts/greivances/love from readers of Capstone titles. Getting to talk to the people that actually buy and read your books is something publishers generally do far too little of. So, i'd love to hear your honest opinions. It may just help the next book i do be even better.
My favourite number is 42 (hence the whole Slartybartfast/Hitchhikers Guide thing). I like my tea medium rare. I don't speak any foreign languages and I can't swim very well.
