I m a 30something year old, softhearted hermit with a more-than-fulltime job and a, regularly dormant, parttime Psychology study on the side. I live with 3 ginger tomcats in my grannies old 30s house which I m trying to give some TLC aswell.
I love to read and although paper still has my preference, I mostly read e-books at the moment because they are a lot easier to carry around with you.
I ve also found that listening to an audiobook is a nice way of making dull householdchores a lot less repulsive.
At the moment there s a lot of fantasy and some youth literature on my to-be-read list; those are my comfort-reads and I tend to turn to them whenever I have a need for a bit of leasure reading when life around me gets more stressfull and chaotic.
But I want to expand my horizon, to include other genres in my reading again and this is where Shelfari comes in: it gives me loads of opportunities to literally browse other peoples bookshelves to see if maybe there s something there that triggers my interest :)
My favorite part of other people s bookshelves is their shelf of favorites, it s like a personal recommendation from that someone! And I ve realised that in return I should keep my own shelves more organised aswell so as of this month (aug 2011) I will start on sorting and tagging my books more precisely instead of just piling them on.
I know there s not much on here in terms of bookdiscussions, reviews or blogentries so I guess it s hard to get to know me better, but if for some reason you d like to leave me a message please feel free to do so!
To remind myself to be consistent in my judgement, this will be my rating system:
1 – ugh! put it away before I even finished;
2 – finished it but if I m being really honest this was a waste of time;
3 – not good, not bad: a nice enjoyable read but nothing special;
4 – very good, worth a reread!;
5 – awesome! love it, need it, want to eat it and never let it go: simply BOOKTASTIC!!!!
