The books on my shelf are a mix of ones that I read & enjoyed and recommended books. I usually don't finish books that I don't enjoy, and I won't put books on my shelf that I didn't find worthwhile. I love my public library system, it is a wonderful resource for books, music, movies, and more!

I read a lot of non-fiction (art, cooking...more »

I haven't read Eat Pray Love yet -some of my friends liked it others didn't -but of course I will read it and form my own opinion.
I thought of another western writer-Larry McMurtry

Hope you find other times to read now that you will be biking- funny thing I only learned to ride a bike last summer -yes really and I'm 40

I did finish it and I liked it. I wasn't looking for a western as much as a Cormac McCarthy book. I thought the progression of the characters was well thought out and I liked the feeling of the scenes. I have read a few Louis L'Amour and they are definitely in the western genre. I haven't read any other western authors.
    What are you reading now?
I just started A Thousand Splendid Suns.

I'm from the southwest so I like the cowboy/loner feel of it. But I agree with you on how confusing it is in regards to which character is speaking. I've just decided not to over think that part and follow the story line. Much easier that way. I do love the way Cormac McCarthy writes otherwise.
I though Geek Love was one of the strangest things I've ever read! And the crazy dreams it gave me were well-crazy. The person I got it from said it was her all time favorite book- and it made me look at her differently.

Thanks, Karen! This looks fun, though I'm afraid I won't have time to do much this morning. I have so many book titles on tiny scraps of paper-I cannot wait to get them on my shelf!!! THIS IS GREAT.
    See you Tuesday!
