I've only returned to my love of reading in the last year or so, but quickly became an avid reader all over again. I'm a big fan of switching it up and checking out different genres/authors/etc each time I pick up a new book.
I'm terrible about typically reading 3 books at one time. I'm half way through 2 and have been cycling through the third book for some time now. I'd like to finish the other two by the end of the year (Truman and The Fellowship of the Rings) so that I can focus on one book at a time from then on out... or maybe two... because I hate carrying around Hardcovers with me everywhere.
I'm a huge fan of Chuck Palahnuik, Chuck Klosterman, Douglas Adams, Clive Barker and Stephen King amongst others (though I desperately need to read more of all of them). I have a soft spot in my heart for Young Adult books (especially Harry Potter) and for fantasy books. I've become more and more engrossed in Non-Fiction works specifically those that target self-help, decluttering, books on writing and grammar, new age, how-to make-up/make-up efx and just learning any new skill. I also have found a love for Historical works and can't wait to read more.
Everyone seems to like to borrow me books, which is cool, but I feel bad because I get a new book and have 4 others I've been wanting to put my attention on!! Though if it's someone who lives locally, I always try to give it my number one slot.
Right now I've been averaging about 3-4 books a month, which I'm pretty pleased with. That's about a book a week. In my dream life, I have time to read twice that though....
If you like any or all of the similar works that I do, friend me! I'm always looking for new suggestions even if it may take me awhile to get to them.
