I'm a mystery writer, and my first book came out in March 2008, under the name Sarah Atwell. It's called Through a Glass, Deadly, and it's about Tucson glassblower Em Dowell who finds a body in her studio and has to figure out why he's dead before the thugs who killed him come after her.
The sequel, Pane of Death, will be out in November 2008. I really enjoyed writing this because I had a chance to tap into some of my art history background and talk about stained glass. enigmatic computer mogul Peter Ferguson moves to Tucson and asks Em to help him design the installation for his fabulous stained glass collection. Too bad he ends up dead. Em finds the body, and then discovers that the glass is missing. Worse, she's accused of killing him.
And if that's not enough, I have a second series coming out beginning in August 2008 with One Bad Apple. When Meg Corey loses her boyfriend, her job and her apartment, she decides this would be a good time to move to that colonial house in western Massachusetts that her mother inherited, renovate it and sell it for a quick profit. Unlikely? Of course, because city girl Meg knows nothing about renovation. But her job is made more complicated when she finds the body of her ex-boyfriend floating in her septic tank.
About me: Married, one child (who is using her comparative literature major to work in a bookstore), three cats. Love (after reading and writing) genealogy (Irish and New England), travel, and repairing old houses.
