Books are delightful society. If you go into a room and find it full of books - even without taking them from the shelves they seem to speak to you, to bid you welcome.

Lord! when you sell a man a book you don't sell just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue - you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humour and ships at sea by night - there's all heaven and earth in a book, a real book.

Let books be your dining table,

    Let them be your mattress
And you shall sleep restful nights.

Hey! Since you like police and detective investigative stories, try "The Husband" by Dean Koontz. It is about the nightmarish ordeal of a man whose wife has been kidnapped. Dark, full of action and suspense, with a beautifully constructed plot, parts of it are really scary!

Have you read "The Afghan" by Frederick Forsyth?
I would call it "extremely realistic fiction", is very well researched and thrilling.
Fast paced, full of action, there is never a dull moment!!!

My views on "The kite runner":

Very rarely does a book leave you with a lump in your throat; makes one count our blessings.

You were right about the meldrama: "He does it so well".

As Rahim Khan says, " There is a way to be good again, a way to end the cycle."

The following sums it up for me:
"Man is the only animal that laughs, for he is the only one who needs to, for he is the only one who also cries."

"There is nothing that time will not heal, time and patience."

    Hello!

Shakespeare walks into a pub and orders a beer. "I can't serve you," says the barman. "You're bard".

    Today's thought:
A good conscience is a continual christmas.

Hello missy... in the court of law and the law of books, I hereby affirm to have written this note in full knowledge of my existence and to have subscribed to this site which seems like a rhyme of almari and to have the ability of this seemingly endless lawful sentence. Take care and don't read so much.
