'HOW TO DESCRIBE MYSELF' IN 200 WORDS OR LESS...
I am a shy, fiercely independent, family-oriented, homebody with a closet tendency toward social butterflyism. I am an author of historic romance...adore 18th century history and imagine that I am transported back in time to that period when I write of it. I make every attempt to represent the period authentically and don't pull punches. As a result, you may find some of my content unusual, but I believe strongly in representing likely characters of the period with realism.

HOW DO I CREATE MY CHARACTERS?
Character inspirations come to me after reading of a particular event, during the period, that interests me. I often awaken from a sound sleep with a poem or segment of a story telling itself to me quite clearly. I jump up (scare my hubby half to death) and run to my desk to write it all out. At other times, mostly when I'm gardening or just allowing my mind to wander, a character will reveal itself to me with such clarity that I feel as if they are real. When I write of them it's more a sharing of their thoughts then a telling, if you understand my meaning.

WHAT MOTIVATES ME?
My faith, my family...and an old-fashioned work-ethic. It is not easy to take the risks an author must take but I have decided to chance it. My intention is to dream with all the passion of my convictions, thus to create my reality.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER...
I'll close with this tidbit...a segment from my dream the other night. I believe the Universe was trying to tell me something?

"Don’t be afraid to dream. Fear is a rabid beast with gaping mouth,
blood-drenched teeth and a voracious appetite for dreams."

Hi Scarlett

First of all I love your name, its so vivid! I am new to shelfari and still feeling my way around the sight. I read your description of yourself and I just wanted to say hi. As a fellow author, I've decided to quit school for the time being and follow this crazy dream, so I can appreciate where you're coming from. I am very curious to check out your books, since your description of yourself was so enjoyable to read, I am thinking that your books would be something of the same.

I would like to get friends on shelfair who share my passion for dreaming, and telling stories that seemed more real than life and dare I say it, infinitely sweeter sometimes.
