Hey Everyone!

My name is Samantha and I'm an English major. I obviously love to read :D

I'm generally a trashy romance type of girl, but I enjoy other genres and manga/graphic novels as well. Currently I'm obsessed with the whole paranormal fantasy/romance genre and I'm ALWAYS obsessed with ALPHA MALES ha ha!

There is an open problem reported about the author page having disappeared for J. D. Robb. No need to remove the author from the In Death series.

I was excited for school to start, but now that it's started, I'm already burned out. It's bad, and I haven't even gotten any major assignments yet. But, I have six classes this semester (and by god they only add up to 14 hours which ticks me off to no end), so my reading will drop off a good bit. Well, my extracurricular reading. I'm taking two literature classes, so I'll be doing plenty of reading because of them.

My bookcase was destroyed when we moved, so all my books are still in boxes, but they take up a good 8 or 9 boxes alone, plus there are tons scattered everywhere.

LOL... I know you are not trying to be difficult!! :)

I too hope you aren't getting frustrated with all these "non-helpful" notes I'm sending you! ;p

However, since it is not on Amazon's site, you will have to create the English version here on Shelfari, if that is the edition you are wanting to work with.

The edition level information is found on the books detail page, (click the Editions tab - next to the Ddiscussions tab) This information is bound to the book and there is NO way to change the edition level information. The (French Edition), and it's ISBN and the link to Amazon are ALWAYS going to point to this edition, even if you changed the cover or title.

(P.S. - I'm only using capitalizes to stress the point, I swear I'm not frustrated.) ;)

Let me know if this is still unclear or if you have further questions, as I mentioned, I do not feel like you are being difficult at all. It's sometimes hard to explain things in typed form, it's times like these that I wish I could just pick up a phone and talk to someone! LOL :)

Unfortunately, you can't just change a books title and their cover to represent a book that you want. We have to stick with the edition information that is bound to the book, which in this case is the French edition information.

If you are looking to work with the English version and it is truly not on Shelfari, you would have to create the book, and then combine the French edition with it, once completed.

Sorry for the extra work! If you would like to provide the ISBN for the English edition, I could certainly try to do an advance search to try and find the English version of the book. I could not locate is on Amazon.com however, and since Shelfari is a mirror of their catalog, I doubt that it is here (which I find really odd.) :)

Thanks for the additional info. Samantha!

With that being the case, the preferred solution would be to combine the French edition with the English original work. I have not found an English edition on Shelfari yet, but admittedly, I haven't looked that hard.

If, however, there isn't an English edition present on Shelfari with which to combine with, then it would truly be a stand-alone French edition that would retain it's French title only.

    Does that make sense?

Let me know what you find and I'll assist in the search when I can.

    Thanks,

    ~ Tish

    Hi again!

In regards to your title change request for the book "Habitats En Danger", I have edited then approved this request.

Based on Shelfari's guidelines, if the book is a stand-alone foreign edition, the correct way to display the title would be "Foreign Title (English translated title)".

Again, please let me know if you have any questions.

    Hi Samantha!

In regards to your title change request for the book "The Baby Project", I denied this request since we do put alternative titles in the subtitle line, but instead you need to list them as the first line of the description area of the books detail page.

I have moved this for you as an example. Please let me know if you have any questions. Also, you can check out Shelfari's editing guidelines here:

    Hi Samantha,

I just thought I'd let you know why I denied your combination request for A Sto:lo-Coast Salish Historical Atlas. The one you wanted to combine it with was only an article from the whole work - and we only combine like for like.

    Thanks!

Sorry it's been a while since I last spoke to you. My exams went as well as exams could go. Failed the class I thought I would pass and made As and Bs in everything else .__. But, after that moved back home for the summer and mom had to cancel the internet and cable because she couldn't afford it. So, now that I'm moved back into a dorm at school, I have internet again.

I'll have to check Mercy Thompson out sometime.

As for Blood and Chocolate, I highly recommend it. It's a short read, but it's really good.

And if you haven't already, you ought to check into Sherrilyn Kenyon. Her stuff is pretty dang good for romance type novels. Then again, I think the mix of romance and sci-fi is what got me lol.

Hi Samantha, looks like we do read a lot of the same books. I've not had time to add all of my hundreds of books to my shelf, but I'm working on it. Game of Thrones is going really good. I have had to work a lot of over time lately, so its been really slow going. I am a software quality assurance analyst (read, tests software). I have to work a little in the morning, but I'm hoping to get to spend most of tomorrow reading. I LOVE your profile picture. I'm really into anime and manga. Just finished the complete series of Honey and Clover on Netflix. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out... it's one of my new favs along with Ouran Host Club.
As for Game of Thrones, I think you should definitely put it on your list. I am really enjoying all of the intrigue, twists, turns and back stabbing. I've been watching the show as well... really great!
