I m a desert rat. But I was raised in the tidal waters of eastern North Carolina and currently find myself sojournering in the Upper Midwest. I love nothing more than spending a morning drinking coffee while reading or an evening curled up by the fireplace with a good book and a good whiskey, unless I could be backpacking, skiing, canoeing or fishing... I enjoy a good story, reading about the American West and the American South as well as other cultures. I also enjoy history, philosophy and theology and naps in a hammock on a summer afternoon. From June through September 2011, I was on sabbatical and traveled around the world (flying across the Pacific and taking trains, boats and buses from SE Asia to Europe and then back to the US on a ship.
