If you like something a little more sci-fi-ish and also challenging, C.S. Lewis' Space Trilogy is good. For mysteries, I do like a good Agatha Christie (maybe start with The Murder of Roger Ackroyd). For African American lit, Invisible Man is good, but I'll warn you, it's also pretty intense.

Okay... here are a few suggestions-- for something light, I really liked Marley and Me (then again, I do have a lab) and I LOVE P.G. Wodehouse's Bertie and Jeeves series. See my shelf for that. If you like British humor, it's especially for you. For a fascinating look at life with autism, try The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nite-Time.
