Avid reader of just about everything. My two claims to fame are that I have a Mini Cooper S and I ran the newspaper at my university for two years. I have three BAs(Russian, English and Education) and a hell of a lot of student loans - due to the nature of Multiple Sclerosis and bi-polar disorder - we are hoping I get the loans forgiven. Hi Rowan!

Just saying hi. How's your summer going? I see that you recently read Black Out by Lisa Unger. What did you think of it? I very much enjoyed Lisa Unger's two previous books (Beautiful Lies and Sliver of Truth), but am hearing mixed opinions of Black Out.

Thats too bad your dad has to have surgery. I hope it isn't too serious of a surgery.
I'm going to Powells City of Books on Sunday so I made a list of books to look at. I got $25 so far for my bday so I'll either buy books, or I might find something at Saturday Market I like. My friend Nikky is taking me and she said she was gonna buy me a book too, so I went on the website and searched the books on my list to see which ones they have used that are really cheap. Things could change by Sunday, but it gives me an idea anyway.
I got a bit further in The Witching Hour. I've just been so tired for some reason and feel on the brink of falling asleep. I guess it a combination of the heat and of the allergy meds...
Well, I hope the surgery goes well...

I just barely started The Witching Hour. I read it long ago but don't remember it other then I liked it. Its kinda an overwhelming book. Its so huge and my TBR is piled so high... but I figured I can get it started and maybe I'll read a lighter book on the side. My client gets kinda worried when I'm reading all these scary books, so I usually have a book that I read special at her house. So we'll see how it goes.

    Hi,

Thanks for the add! You've got lots of great books in your bookcase. James Joyce's "Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man" is one of my favorite books. A friend of mine was involved with the Bloomsday readings of "Ulysses" on June 16.

    Cheers,

    Dan

I LOVE They Might Be Giants! Music and books are on the same level of importance for me--I can't imagine life without them. I see you've been a Shelfari member for a long time. Has it changed much? I think it's great and I guess there's not a whole lot I'd change. I just stopped by my favorite library with a new stash of books to read. Ah, heaven.
