"That's what I love about reading: one tiny thing will interest you in a book, and that tiny thing will lead you onto another book, and another bit there will lead you onto a third book. It's geometrically progressive-all with no end in sight, and for no other reason than sheer enjoyment." - The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
"It is the sandstorms that shape the stones of the desert. It is the struggles of life that form a person's character." Native American Proverb cited in The Last Camel Charge by Forrest Bryant Johson
My name is Regina Lindsey. I have been a voracious reader as long as I can remember. For awhile I only read non fiction and historical fiction, but I have tried to round out my reading in the past few years. I also enjoy books that make me think or view a topic from a different perspective. I enjoy reading books that I know I will disagree with just to challenge my view.
The books on my shelf are the books I can remember reading. Often if a book does not impact me I forget the title quickly unless I felt it especially poor.
I am thrilled to have this site. There are very few people locally that I can discuss books with. I have tried to start and find local book clubs with little success.
I am married to my high school sweetheart and the proud mother of two girls. Some of my best memories with them are of us reading books. We had a routine. Each child had a turn at picking a book. Then I chose a book. We rotated and everyone had to respectfully listen to the chosen book.
Thank you to everyone who has graciously accepted friendship requests. I look forward to learning more about everyone's interests.
