A twice converted country to city to country girl, I am very content now with my husband, four ditzy male dogs and one very bossy female kitty at our little place at the lake deep in the Piney Woods of East Texas.

It would be hard for me to decide what I love best -- reading or writing. I can while away countless hours doing either....more »

More exciting news at the Suspense & Thrillers Group…as you might already know that Keith Katsikas, author of “2060: The Newton Prophecies” will be leading a discussion on his book. We don’t have a date set up yet, but will in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, Amanda Stevens, author of THE DOLLMAKER, has also agreed to lead the discussion for May’s Group Read, which is THE DOLLMAKER. I’m really excited as this is something new and might become a new trend with our group discussions. If you’ve already read the book, come join us. If not, see if you can grab a copy. There’s still time as the discussion won’t begin until the first week of May.

I hope you will take the time to view my YouTube book trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-t0K34iU6g. I am doing some research about potential characters to play the lead role in the upcoming movie. Hope you can help me out. As Ralph Eggleston Director/Production Designer of Pixar Animation Studios said,
"I LOVED the book! It's a missing, ENDLESSLY fascinating link to the history of Hollywood. Thank you for researching and writing it!! I hope it's been widely well received, as it deserves to be." Best wishes. Gaelyn

Actually you did, Paula! it was my story about my local library and the SWA books.

Since then I've posted a review of SPANISH DAGGER here and on Amazon -- I've been pretty busy, really, with the reviewing!

    See you later!

I meant to type: You are NOW officially my friend. (How's that self-editing and coming from a long-time editor/publisher! lol )

Sorry about that. Happy reading and writing, Paula.

    Good Sunday, Paula,
Thanks for the note. I hope it works this time. You're an interesting woman and I look forward to sharing BOOKS! As I just told our mutual friend, Linda from Maine, I just finished reviewing SUNRISE ON KUSATSU HARBOR and recommend it highly. I plan to review WILDERNESS that you co-edited asap.
Meanwhile, I hope you place one or all of my books on your Shelf. I think my 1106 GRAND BOULEVARD would be your fave of my works.

I know you invited me to be your friend at about the same time I invited you.

I definitely accepted yours, but we're not showing on each other's friends' list AND mine still lights up as FRIENDSHIP REQUESTED.

What's going on? Do you know? Hmmmmmmm ...

Hi Paula -- I don't think I thanked you yet for suggesting such interesting collections for my List. I used several of them -- it's a List of favorite and future favorite "short reads." I DO like making Lists and Guides on Amazon! It saves me from having to nag people face to face about reading what I want them to read.

    Hi, Paula,

Thanks for inviting me to be your Shelfari Friend (SF). I look forward to chatting and exchanging books with a professional woman like you.

I checked your websites and am intrigued by both your pro and your FUN writing.

My friend, Linda from Maine, told me a little about you, also. Good luck with the new book you co-edited. I'll be placing it on my Shelf, and when I manage to get a copy I'll also review it on Amazon and Shelfari. (I'm nearing the 1000 mark with Amazon which will make me an official AMAZON TOP REVIEWER.)

I finally got around to placing my profile on MY SHELF, so check it out for more about me. (Just in case you looked before last night, when I posted it.)

Regarding TANYA TUCKER who used to live in Tyler, I thought everyone knew her. She's a famous country/western singer, not-as-famous actress and has her own TV show. I didn't think you would know her personally, just thought you'd know OF her and the family. Hmmmm ... (Sorry for not explaining who she was.)

Anyway, I DO look forward to hearing from you again soon.

I really think you would enjoy the Festival. My mom came up from Kountze last November and hasn't stopped talking about it yet. The posters are wonderful, and each year they are completely different.

I was browsing through my FRIENDS' FRIENDS and came across your notes. In addition to being happy that my Shelfari Friend Linda is touting my novels and short stories, I saw that one of your friends (Desdemona) mentions you live in Tyler. OMG, that's where Tany Tucker lived when I interviewed her for THE GILROY NEWS HERALD that I edited years ago. Did you know the TUCKER family, father Beau and the rest of them? Hmmmmmmm ...
I see from your Shelf that you enjoy Maya Angelou. I must check to see if I remembered to place one of her books on my Shelf.

    Paula --
I've been having fun making Reader's Guides on Amazon & now want to make a list of "short reads." I'm including some Amazon shorts by my Shelfari friends Betty Dravis and Mark LaFlamme. Thought I'd include some compilations of shorter pieces e.g. your "What Wildness Is This." Are there any other shorts or collections you'd care to recommend to me?

I know exactly where Tyler is, we used to go through there going to Canton First Monday Trade Days. Urbanna is on the Middle Penninsula on the Rappahannock River... Beautiful small "rivah" town, been around since the early 1600's and is like living in a picture postcard. You and your husband should come explore, maybe during Oyster Festival one year.... it is amazing. http://www.urbannaoysterfestival.com/about_festival.htm
