I am 66 yrs old. I have been an avid reader my whole life. Some of my fondest childhood memories are sitting on Mom's lap with my brother & sister beside us listening to stories. (I was a before TV kid). I taught elem school for many years until the kids made me sick ;-). I had to retire from teaching in 1992 which gave me even more time to read. I had a kidney transplant in 2004. My favorite genres are historical fiction (mainly England in medieval times), World War II stories and stories about other cultures. Actually I will read almost anything (including cereal boxes). I'm not too fond of sci-fi/fantasy books. I just could not get into the vampire books. I live with my husband of 45 yrs in Columbus, Ohio....GO BUCKS.... We have 2 adult children plus their spouses and 6 grandchildren. At the present time we have no pets. That should change soon...... We enjoy traveling in the USA; although I cannot travel as much as we would like because of health issues. This summer we are planninga super family vacation to the Outer Banks, NC. (I hope they have a used book store). There will be about 25 of us in 3 houses for the week. We are truly lookng forward to this vacation. We will range in age from 70 yrs to year old twins. I will take my NOOK with me so I can read, read, read. « less
