I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. ~Anna Quindlen, "Enough Bookshelves," New York Times, 7 August 1991

Yes, Bran is our would-be Robin. I had a bit of trouble with him to begin with, too, but his character arc has been one of the best things about the saga. I guess it's that we usually come into the legends with Robin already a good man and strong leader. So it feels odd to have somewhat flaky, petulant, ill-tempered Bran in that role. Of course, I tend to have strong opinions on my Robin Hoods, lol. But the character's arc is one of the best things in the series.

I see you're reading Hood. I'd love to hear your thoughts as it goes. I'm on the third in the trilogy, Tuck.

    Hi MsC, (Deborah)

Yeah 101 books unreal really as I have never came across someone else with so many in common.

I love William Marshall too!! I was in London in February and went to the Temple Church to see his effigy as he was buried there... I took a pic of the effigy with my phone so every now and then I have a look at it. How sad is that!!!

Like you I only like reading the books that show him in a good light. I'm like that two about Richard iii I dont like books that should him as bad as I do believe he was good.

I do like living in Ireland and eventhough its soooo small no matter where you go in the world we get a big welcome and people are friendly to us because we come from Ireland.

Just a bit of info for you. Do you know the gaelic for Deborah is Gobnait?
Pronounced Gobnet. Abagail is also Gobnet in gaelic hence Debbie or Abbie are the same.

Thats it take care and keep in touch

I'm not sure if I'm going to get the NOOK, I might get the Kindle. I think the Kindle might be a tad-bit better, especially in regards to money. But, the only problem is I'm not sure if I can rent from the library, like you were telling me. And I don't know if you and me could lend books to each other, like if I got the NOOK. So I'm in a slump right now trying to figure out which one I should get.

I know you finished the Pale Rose of England. I am about halfway through and I must say Henry Vii is an nasty man. Puts into perspective his son henry viii....must run in the family. I feel terribly for what poor perkin warbeck went through. I do believe from this book at least that he was the son of edward iv. I just needed to talk with someone about this book.

I love the quotes on your profile page and fully intend to add them to my Reading Workshop bulletin board (which currently showcases my favorite Harry Potter quotes). Like you, I am a 7th grade teacher with a vibrant Reading Workshop program. I'm curious, what titles are most interesting to your kids right now?

After I sent my note, I checked w/Amazon, and the version I wanted is not available in the US for Kindle, soooo, I ordered the paperback. It should be here soon, I'll read it and then join the discussion. I'll have to cram it in somewhere!
