I love to read history, books by Antonia Fraser are my favourites "The Wives of King Henry V111" or "Queen Mary of Scots".
I just discovered Robertson Davies, one of Canada's best authors! I loved "Leaven of Malice" and bought a beautiful hard cover signed addition of " The Lyre of Orpheus"
Autobiographies have caught my attention of late...Pattie Boyd's "Wonderful Tonight" is an exciting read.
I love to read stories that come out of Italy "Under the Tuscan Sun" by Frances Mayes, France "A Year in Provence" by Peter Mayle, and especially anything out of England, for I have been there a few times.
The most difficult read was "Anna Karenina" by Leo Tolstoy...all those Russian names!
My most favourite of all are the older romances like... Jane Austen's, "Persuasion" and Charlotte Bronte's "Jane Eyre"
Another oldie I rather enjoyed was "A Little of What You Fancy" by, H E Bates
Two of my favorite Christian books I enjoyed "The Shack" by William P. Young and "Tea With Hezbollah" by Ted Dekker
As for poetry Robert Burns is a favorite.
Because of a loved one, ADHD info has me reading too.
Thanks to my neighbor he has generously given me approx. 100 books in 2009 before he moved away...the books given me were from his fathers (DB)'s extensive collection of over 4,000. With his gifts my library is growing into the hundreds of well loved books....
