I love any type of romance. I live in Lynn, Massachusetts which is about 20 minutes north of Boston. I am a die hard Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics fan.
I work full time as an admin, but I also work part time at a bookstore (I always tell people I work there for the discount) I have always read romance and everyone tells me I'm the romance...more »

    Hi Randy,

Thanks for stopping by Passion for the Page and the welcome to the Readers of Romance Challenges. As you probably saw from my blog, I'm hopelessly addicted to challenges ;o).

Sometime early this year, I added the 3rd column to my blog. It takes a little fiddling with the HTML code, but not a lot (I don't know squat about HTML, but I follow directions well ;o)). I found the instructions on how to add the 3rd column here:

    http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/2007/05/three-columns-rounders-template.html

There are a bunch of templates out there now (a lot more than when I changed mine) if you search google for "3 column blogger template." In fact, I just did that and found several I like. Uh oh, I feel another template change coming on! But not for a while, it always seem to take me time to get everything worked out again once I change templates and right now I'd rather read ;o).

Hi, Randi. I noticed that you just added Shirley Busbee's Scandal Becomes Her to your shelf. I read her earlier books and really liked them but haven't read her recent titles. Just this week I was thinking about her. I noticed you rated it 5 stars. Can you tell me a little about why you liked the book? Thanks.

Hi Randi! Isn't Linda Howard awesome? I could read her forever. Looks like we have some books and groups in common! I'm looking forward to the book challenge -- making my list right now.

Well, duh! It just occurred to me that we have a list of Diana Palmer recommendations from our Favorite Books by Favorite Authors feature. It's been some years since we polled for her, but at http://www.likesbooks.com/favesbyauthor3.html#palmer you'll find these ranked titles:

    Lacy
    Cattleman's Choice
    After the Music
    Amelia
    Calhoun
    Midnight Rider
    Diamond Girl
    Soldier of Fortune
    Callaghan's Bride
    Lord of the Desert
    Once in Paris
    Sutton's Way

Seems like your favorite is the consensus!

    Randi -

Thanks for your nice comments about AAR. As to Diana Palmer, I'm not a good person to ask for recommendations because each of the three books I've tried by her were ones I thought were so bad they were good, if you know what I mean.

I know that a couple of our reviewers (past and present) like her as a sort of guilty pleasure, and there have been some discussions on our forums about her, so if you'd like some recommendations, ask about her on our Reader to Reader Forum. And, good luck! I may not like Palmer, but I've got my own guilty pleasure authors, some of whom you'll discover by looking at my Shelfari shelf. ;)

Looks like some of your favorites are books I graded in the B range. We've got no shared favorites, though, but we both seem to like Kleypas, McCarthy, and Quinn. I'm trying to figure out how Diana Palmer fits into your faves, though. ;)
