I noticed you read the book No Middle Name by Tilly Brasch I was wondering what you thought about it. I know it is an extremely emotional read, however I beleive that it is a great way to fight stigma in todays society. I have had the great oppertunity to meet the author and she is a wonderful women who continues to fight for the rights of the mentally ill in Australia.
Widow Traci Evans sits in on meetings with the lovely ladies of the Invincible Sisterhood because for a little while she can feel as if she belongs. The members are all sweet older women who have lost their husbands, but not their passion for life. However, unlike the other women in the Sisterhood, Traci's husband died while cheating on her. Traci has no intention of letting a man make a fool of her again. Not even if he begged. Even her newfound friend and neighbor, Maureen Gilmore, can't convince her to open her heart to love again. But when Maureen's gorgeous son Ryan admits he's attracted to Traci, she might have to rethink everything she knows about love. Maureen has some soul searching to do as well. She's interested in a sexy young policeman...and then the unthinkable happens, she starts having hot flashes Two women - two impossible situations. NOT EVEN IF YOU BEGGED new release date Jan 22
ProlificT,Thanks for the add. Take Care!
I read Kite Runner a couple of years ago. A co-worker was reading the book and shared it with me. The story's theme is not new. It is about the relationship between two boys, one the son (Amir) of a wealthy Afghan businessman, and the other the son (Hassan) of a servant who works for the businessman. What I liked most was understanding better the political turmoil in Afghanistan. It takes place in the 1970's thru to the 1990's when the Taliban takeover. It is well written, especially for a first attempt. I recommend you read it.
ProlificT, i had to come back and apologize. The book i am reading is by Gary Hardwick (Cold Medina). See multitasking, i am doing to much. I must sit it on down. Lol... talk to you later. Sharon
T,I LOL! and clapped my hands when I saw the 5 Chinese Brothers on your bookshelf! It was one of my favorite books as a child. You took me waaaay back!Peace,Cynthia
