    Poet Girl,
Regarding my kids being really cute. In reality they are little monsters. Almost unbearable. All children have an uncanny ability to put on the charm when there are visitors. That is how we survive as a species. Visitors say "oh look, they are so cute and well behaved, lets get one". All hell breaks loose when you actually have one of your own. You then spend most of your time, effort and energy trying to get rid of them. This then spawns a whole industry of babysitters, nannies, day care etc. It is a vicious cycle but it is part of life.
I don't mean to discourage you. They do come in handy when you have work to do on the farm, light industry or if you have a home business that requires little fingers (mine are very good at assembling computer circuit boards).

    Hey Poet Girl,
I put The Farming of Bones on my wish list. I know I will like it because I have really liked every book you have suggested.
By the way, what do you mean I have no friends. I have at least two that I am aware of. One of them is close and I'll admit the other is more of an aquaintance. But you are right, maybe I should get out more. Movie? Cinemateque? Let me know if you see any film festival events. Not the TIFF official thing but the stuff like L.L.F.T (the liason of left handed film-makers of Toronto). Every group has a festival now.
