My philosophy is that you live once through the living and twice through the writing. I've liked writing since I was a little girl with my toy typewriter. I found myself typing funny classified ads and the rest is history. Now, go to Amazon, Barnes and Noble or www.communitypresshome.com and check out my two books, Being Frank with Anne (the...more »

    Evening Phyllis,

    How have you been?

Sounds like things are going quite well for you and your book. I'm excited to hear a fellow writer experiencing such success. Special congrats on the powerful reviews! If you would still like me to post a review for your first book let me know. I apologize, but the end of this year was a handful and several of my own projects got sidetracked. Oh, I too am also working on getting my 3rd book out before the end of the year. Seems like we are always in sync with each other.

I'm doing well. Just got back from a month in South Carolina and I leave for the Dominican Republic tomorrow morning - second year doing a "social justice tour" of the island.

And thanks for the compliment. Your photo is quite stunning also. If I ever write a formal review for your books I will definitely choose that picture to accompany it. :)

    Hi Phyllis,
How are your sales going? I'm trying to find out who, at the Virginian Pilot I should send an ARC of my upcoming book to. (sorry about that preposition at the end of a sentence!) Teresa and Cindy suggested that you'd probably know. Hugs, Maria

Thanks Phyllis. I'm gearing up for my release/signing party on April 6th. I just sent a book with the reviews and marketing plans to Barnes and Noble's Small Press department in NY. Working on my new novel also. I have a producer from Robot Films looking at my newest novel to do a movie trailer. I'll keep you posted. Skip

I see that you and I have an admirer in common (see below). Perhaps I will remove the beach pic and put up one with my teeth blackened out next. I know Jill would like that.

Hi Phyllis! I have not been to a Women of Faith conference, though it's something I'd like to do in the future. Yes, being a guest speaker would be a great experience. Since I write and speak about eating disorders and depression, I'd have a lot in common with the audience--everyone, at sometime in their life, is affected by depression (either their own or that of someone they love).

Maybe we'll bump into one another at a future conference! Until then, I'll see you around the Shelfari bookshelves!

    Peace.

Oh, yes, your Anne Frank book sounds very interesting. I wish great things for it.

No problem - I would not have missed it for the world. I was just today getting into the meat of the book and Wow!!! I really think your poetic interpretation of Anne Frank is unequaled by anything I've ever read. Somehow you got in that room with her and connected with her soul. // So many people ask me about the source of my literary talent, and I always refer back to the community and since of family growing up there, it's no coinsidence that you were part of that same community too... "I think there were heavy levels of lead in the water out there, that now flows forth through our pens!!!! - BRAVO PJ - BRAVO!!!
