I am having a lot of fun with Shelfari. I found it in Oprah's magazine and have used it almost daily since them! I am 34 years old, an intensive care nurse, a nursing instructor and a volunteer paramedic. I am the proud "mother" to a female cat named Pandora. I love to read, and I love to talk to others about books!

    Hi friend,
Just a short note to wish you a very happy Easter! Hope you are having a great rest and enjoying time with your family and friends.
I hope you don't mind if I browse your shelfbook from time to time in order to share tastes in books.

    Hello Nurse-
I see Complications on your shelf. You may enjoy A. Gawande's latest "Best." I find his writing so readable, his topics in this book are pertinent to what you and I
see at work everyday! Our system could learn from public health staff in India!
    See what you think--

    Hi Patti,
Many thanks for your invitation. I think starting a new year with new friends is wonderful. I hope I will have crowded closet of myself and all we could share our love for literature and for beauty.
What a gorgeous avatar you have ! As you might know I have also cats and they are my special babies at home. By the way, what is the name of this red stripped kitten of yours?
Could you recommend some books for me and for my daughter -a 11-years-old bookworm?
I sat my languages exams this week, so I am really weary, nothing bu dead beaten! I am having a rest and then I'll surf in Shelfari and chat with my friends. Talk you later!
Best regards from a new friend!

Love yoru photo -- kitty is really cute. Please take a look at my shelf and see if it gives you any ideas of what to read -- I just joined and still have to go back and do tabbing and writing a bit about each book but still have so many to add --aaargh -- but what a guilty pleasure :)

The Weight of Water was a wonderful Anita Shreves book. Her books tend to be a bit slow but very, very worthwhile and enjoyable reading

Hi Sorry took me so long to get to your note about the bookmarkers, I buy pre made bookmarks at Hobby Lobby, and then I use quotes and ribbons etc to embellish them. It takes my mind out of the nursing texts for a short period of time.

    Hey Patti
Just a note of thanks on the advice for my teaching plan, its making it a whole lot easier. I need a good grade on this as got a C on my first test in Med-Surg (2nd semester) and we only have two. I'll tell you what nursing school is a whole lot of challenge, but I do love my Clinicals.

Hello Patti the Nurse, I'm back from never, never land. I, believe it or not had the flu around mid-late March, no really, I had the nasal swab and everything! It was awful and the worst part of it all, okay, well almost the worst part was that I didn't get to keep up with any of my new Shelfari friends. I've done some reading, I read Maeve Binchy's new one when I was sick, and now I'm in the middle of "Complications" but per usual, the list I want to read is so much longer than what I can read at one time. If you have time, I would love it if you could enlighten me about "The Secret". Worth all the hype? I'm a huge Oprah fan, so generally if she says read it, I do, but since the list of things I want to read is so long and well, I have this great new web site, I thought I would ask people about it. let me know what you think. Thanks in advance.

Hi Pattithenurse! Thanks for the friend request. I've read two Beth Saulnier books, really liked them. But I got bogged down in the third one--I'll get back to it but I'm not sure when. I always have too many books going at one time. Your shelves look good too--we obviously have great taste! Is your avatar your kitty? It is so cute. Mine is my cat Cupcake, Cuppy for short. She is my constant companion and is so funny. She has to see/do/be everything I do. I'm reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult, Plan B by Jonathan Tropper. What are you reading?
