I'm a G.R.I.T.S who loves reading, Starbucks and shopping...in that order! And if I can do them all in one day, even better!!!!
I love to read books on Spirituality mostly, but just-for-fun I like a good adventure book, either Fantasy or Dan Brown-ish. I've also been known to read Nicholas Sparks ; )
I love to read about the Goddess....more »

Oh goody - I will get The Story of Forgetting to you ASAP. I'd love to hear what you think of it. As for me holding it as well as Becca...Claire, you are so sweet!!! You'll be able to tell my fingerprints from Becca's because I have a horrible habit of eating buttered popcorn when I read. LOL

I had a great weekend. Went away w/ some gfs I taught w/ for many, many years. We had a great time being goofballs & staying up all night screaming w/ laughter. It was in the mtns. so it was comfy & cool. How was your weekend?

    ((hugs)) to you, too!!

Saw the addition of Guenevere, Queen of the Summer Country to your shelf, looked very good so I put a hold on it at our local library.
Good luck with your transition next week!

Thanks so much for the card, little sis! Brightened my day.

As I told Alicia, I'm sure if Greg knew Alicia was packin', he'd have been all "yes m'am, kids will be there at 0600 hours, m'am". I must remember to tell him next time I talk to him! Thanks too for you good advice. I've backed way up and am chillin'.

Hmm, I suppose I'll look for it...since you made me pinky swear...

We had our "fireworks" like that up at the cabin a couple weeks ago and got it out of the way...Still trying to feel comfortable around my parents again...

The puzzle (NYT) is hard late in the week, but you're completely right about comon workds, common clues, tricks (puns, etc.) and things like that. Plus, it's supposed to keep the brain from falling apart, so that's a good thing. The Denver Post gives the answers in the same issue, though, so when I get completely bamboozled I succumb to the temptation lying there in wait...

And we're getting married on the 26th. Sorry if my mental math was wrong... I suppose that's ominous in some way....

4th was good. We climbed a mountain above Boulder and were able to see about 12 different fireworks displays up and down the front range, and even a few in the mountains. Wedding Saturday. I was DD, so I managed to have a few too many and secure us a hotel room at the reception hotel... caught a little flack for that, as we're supposedly saving money... Errands yesterday, and back to the grind today: crosswords, books and internet, though I have been charged with bathroom cleansing today...

I started Choke, by Pahleniuk (sp?)--you know, the fight club guy. It's good, but he's SO dementedly graphic.

All my painting is done except for touch-ups around the house. Gotta get to those some time this week. Wedding is in 18 days... [panics]

Oooohhhhh, are you goig to read some Clive Barker? I love his writing. Coldheart canyon was phenomenal. BTW- I also finished the first chapter. And yes, that was most enlightening. I am onto the Goddess section next. Should be quite interesting. Be well my Peach.

yeah, it's heavy. He had a thing for the massive tome back while working on that, and Weaveworld, and The Great and Secret Show, and Everville.... And Gallilee and Cold Heart Canyon, for that matter... All of which I thoroughly enjoyed, by the way... And I was mistaken about the sequels in my post a while back. Imajica is a stand-alone. It's The Great and Secret Show and Everville that are the 1-2 punch. That should by n means detract from Imajica. He has the most unbelievable imagination I've ever read...

I keep wishing he would come out with something comparable sometime in the next decade....

Finished TTTW the other day and thought it was great. THANK YOU for the recommendation AND the book. Do you have a specific request for the book's next destination, or should I look for another worthy reader?

Thank you! That's great and I'll check it out later. I found a lady who will take them on consignment, so it will be good to have an idea of the value before I take them to her. She's in MA, not too far from us. We had sort of gotten to the point where we were just going to put them in storage, but that's so expensive. Again, thanks! You're the best!
