I am brazilian . My book´s style is eclectic , but as you can note at my shelf , I prefer books about eurasian subjects and those ones that allow to get in contact with other cultures , no matter if fiction or non-fiction.

I read The Unbearable Lightness of Being many years ago. It is such a wonderful book. Beautifully written.

As much as I am an anti-zionist, this book seems over the top. Sounds like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion book - full of untrue allegations. Anyway, I would be interested in what you think of the book.

Aung San Suu Kyi, what a courageous woman. I hope you enjoy the book.

I first heard of her many years ago when I went to an Amnesty International meeting in Washington DC. I remember going to the Burmese embassy and protesting there advocating for her release and other Burmese prisoners of conscience.

    Paulo:

Thank you for the kind email about the shark. I am now reading a book on bats. It is very interesting and it is written by the man who founded Bat Conservation International.

Did you want me to lend you Molokai now. Or do you have other reading projects that you need to do first?

    Ali Baba Ghanouj says

I'm only about halfway through it, but it provides an excellent description of the breakdown in relations between Soviet Armenia and Soviet Azerbaijan, dispelling a handful of myths on the way. It seems pretty academic too (as opposed to a collection of interviews or something like a travelogue) but it's a real easy and interesting read.

The Love of Elif Shafak was an excelent piece of work that I've have ever read. The most distinct tive feature is the method followed to tell the story. There is no single primary character telling the story. The story is delivered from the point of all characters.
