I am the quintessential Trinbagonian interested in theater, traveling and reading novels by West Indian authors.
I love writings by the late Samuel Selvon, Ralph de Boissierre, and older works by Sir V. S. Naipaul, Trinidadian Noble Laureate. I also enjoy work of Roger Mais, Edgar Mittelholzer, Alfred Mendes and B.J. Ramon Fortune.
I love historical novels and have been a long standing fan of Victoria Holt (Jean Plaidy), in her many incarnations. I also enjoy Jane Austen and Georgette Heyer.
My two favorite classics, Goethe's 'Faust ' and Dickens's ' A Christmas Carol' should give you a pretty good indication to the range of my reading taste. I have always enjoyed the wit of Geoffrey Chaucer even when no one in the class understood what he was writing!
Of the modern writers I read almost anything, particularly work by Jeffery Archer, Stephen King, John Grisham, Tom Clancy, Nora Roberts, Harold Robins, Michael Crichton, Daniele Steel, Sidney Sheldon, James Patterson, Anne Enright, Robert Harris, Mary Higgins Clarke, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Terry Mc Millan, Toni Morrison and my favorite new author Ashley Kath Bilsky.
My other interest combines reading with theater - Puccini and The Phantom of the Opera and Shakespeare. I also collect Caribbean art especially pieces from Haiti, Cuba and my native Trinidad. The painting in my profile: 'La Diablesse' by Alfredo Codallo, noted Trinidadian folklorist.
Oh and I must tell you I am a spectator sport junkie, especially - bobsleigh, rugby, soccer, athletics and cricket.
