I spend most of my time maintaining my high maintenance family. Reading is my favorite escape from the ordinary and the expected. For that reason I tend toward sci-fi and fantasy, but love a variety of books. I can recommend reading anything that I've ranked with three stars or more.

1 star = don't bother
2 stars = whatever is between "ish" and "hey"
3 stars = a good book
4 stars = an excellent book that for some reason left me wanting
5 stars = worthy of re-reading

The rank of my "Favorites" are randomly bestowed on books that have meaning for me or made me feel something, not necessarily five stars. Sometimes a less than well written book will seize a corner of my heart for personal reasons. « less
