hey sweetie! i'm so glad you loved "the lollipop shoes" too. you are right, i would have been upset too if it had gone that dark. to me it was a near perfect book and a great fall/winter/christmas read. i havent read the other one but it's on my list. did you just recently read " brideshead'? i love that book soooo much and have read it about 3 times over the past nearly 30 years. i see that you didn't make it to the last meeting either. i had just flew in from seattle with a cold so didn't make it. i hope to see you this month and hope you are doing well. thanks for writing.

it all started when i saw a wedding dress abandonned on a bus stop bench in chapelhill and i have been writing about it ever since. i also was shown a funereal statue in a lancaster , pennsylvannia cemetery with the inscription "could love have kept her?" which i decided touse as a title. then , i have attended the faulkner conference in oxford and i dfinitely have been taken with the current trend to weave authors into novels i.e. michael cunningham 's THE HOURS and more recently THE JANE AUSTEN BOOK CLUB . i figured that eudora deserved the same and figured she would n't mind because she had a twisted sense of humor. i am hoping to finish some time this summer . i have been working on this project for years. keep in touch and i will keep you informed of my progress. bonnie
