"TALES OF THE CITY ... MOROCCO STYLE"
Hi! My name is Steven Stanley, and I'm an avid reader of fiction (never without a book I'm reading and another in my car CD player).

My novel Moroccan Roll was inspired by the four years I spent in Morocco as a Peace Corps volunteer.

    Hi Steven,
I'm curious about your thoughts on Lost in the Forest. I read The Good Mother years ago and loved Miller's portrayal of flawed characters and realistic situations that are never black and white.

I hope you will take the time to view my YouTube book trailer at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-t0K34iU6g. I am doing some research about potential characters to play the lead role in the upcoming movie. Hope you can help me out. As Ralph Eggleston Director/Production Designer of Pixar Animation Studios said,
"I LOVED the book! It's a missing, ENDLESSLY fascinating link to the history of Hollywood. Thank you for researching and writing it!! I hope it's been widely well received, as it deserves to be." Best wishes. Gaelyn

Thanks for joining my book club. Hopefully some of the selections will appeal to you and you'll give some of them a try. I just finished "Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell" by Suzanna Clarke and it was excellent and epic (almost 800 pages in Hardcover). Next up is a smart sci-fi one by Charles Stross called "Glasshouse". Later, Bryan.

Glad to have you as a friend! Cool shelf -- cool that you write! Hope to continue making your acquaintance. Do you like LA? I'm picking up a friend at LAX this week. Not my favorite destination, but driving through Malibu is pretty. Have a great night!!

Hi Steven! I didn't know you wrote a book! When did you do that? Are you still going to the theater a lot? We have subscriptions at the Actors Co-op, so we'll be going there in Feb, to see their production of 1776. Might we see you there again? --Susan

Googled some. Remembered name----John Garang {SPLA}, Sudan's first Vice President after peace accord. Killed in plane crash within weeks. A sad time for the then future hopes of Sudan. If I ever figure out the book, I will tell you. It was fascinating. Terrie

Question---Do you know the name of the book about the American woman who was married to the Southern Sudanese leader. He was killed in a plane crash shortly after the peace agreement----one of the many. She worked for an NGO and was pretty controversial. She was killed in a suspicious car accident--in Kenya, I think. Driving me crazy trying to remember. Help?
