Hi Mom....thanks for showing me how to navigate this site a little more. I am using it a lot more as I am cross referencing information about books that I want to read. This site is great for that.

    hi kerrie,
glad you like your new kindle. i think you can have a lot of books on that gadget at once so don't have to find space for the paper kind. now i have got my olympus gadget i just download from audible, after i have bought the book of course, which means i should have more room on my bookcase but i'm liking the gadget more and more. no having to change discs just the batteries when the power runs out. i still have a lot of bought books on cds to listen to and have had to buy a new cd player. can't complain the old one has had a lot of use.
i too am not keen on bad language but don't mind if it's necessary for the story. its the same with sex scenes. why do they have to put in every little detail? its difficult to fast forward as you can miss something which you need to know later in the story.
chris is reading a book for me. it was on a tv book club and the reviews didn't help much but i was interested in the story. seven stories lilnked together by a girl reading. the first ones about paintings and the artists and later photographs. its the last one set in the future i'm not so sure of. waiting for chris to finish to tell me what she thinks.
    enjoy reading.
    lots of hugs
    your friend karen.

    hi kerrie,
was so proud of you when i read you had gone to see a play by yourself. i know it must have been hard as well as visiting a friend who's husband has the same type of cancer bill had.
have you got the kindle and tried it yet? i can manage reading the screen on the computer but don't think i could do an entire book, takes a lot of concentration and i can only do it in short bursts on good days.
took les to the dentists yesterday morning. he has to have 2 teeth removed and can't get an appointment until july! i thought all dentists were dental surgeons, apparently not. it rained heavily so when we got home had to change our clothes. nero is easy, get a towel and rub him down even if it is a fight to get the towel back off him.
sorry i have been so long in answering your note, time seems to be flying by once more.
    thinking of you.
    lots of hugs,
    your friend karen.

    hi kerrie,
if you enjoy the kindle its money well spent. treat yourself, you deserve it.
i haven't heard of beta fish, they must be small to fit in a jar. as you say another living thing in the house. watching fish in a tank is supposed to be calming. as a small child in the classroom i remember watching fish in a fish tank which was to one side of me. i couldn't see the blackboard and the teacher wondered why i was falling behind in lessons. i tried to explain to her that from where i sat i couldn't see the board and we used individaul slates in the previous classroom so i was fine but she didn't get it.
we moved house and i went to another school. there i was allowed to go up to the board and read the writing but it was a bit uncomfortable when you are the only one doing that. then i went to another school where everyone else in the class did the same as me. that's where i met my husband les and it definately wasn't love at first sight. that came a long time later. gosh a trip down memory lane from just taling about fish.
    enjoy your new kindle,
    lots of hugs.
    your friend karen.

    hi kerrie,
chris put the website in for me so i could see the necklace. unusual isn't it. so glad it makes you feel better. the azaelas looked lovely too. i have two of them in my garden and one is just coming into flower. i have rhodradendums(not sure of the spelling) too which are in flower or have big buds on them.
chris has been looking for the doctor's lady but she says its expensive over here. she is going to try another website to see if it any cheaper. after listening to the preacher's bride she is interested in more by that author.
went to see a musical last wednesday evening. i enjoyed it. all the fun of the fair starring david essex. thought it had a good storyline.
finished i'll be seeing you and i am going to start i am the messenger which les has already listened to. he says its good. needed to listen to something totally different as have been listening to a lot of fictionalised history. still have a lot of fictionalised history to listen to. normally enjoy it but i'll be seeing you was a bit slow and the reader wasn't very good at doing an american accent in my opinion. i listen to a lot of american books through audible.
    thinking of you.
    lots of hugs.
    your friend karen.

    hi kerrie,
was going to write to you yesterday but we are having trouble with the internet, its been very patchy. some sites were alright, others couldn't access at all.
told chris she might like the preacher's bride. she started listening to it and just carried on one disc after the other. started and finished it in 2 days. took me longer than that. she enjoyed it too. waiting for more by jody hedlund to come on audio. i know she has two more books out there but not on audio yet.
its nice when you can can get stories set near where you live. milly johnson writes stories set in barnsley and sheffield u.k. i have most of them, or rather i have 3 and the others are on my audible wishlist which is now over 90!
haven't had the chance to see your necklace on the website and now find i have deleted the name of it from my emails. can you write it again for me please?
    lots of hugs.
    your friend karen.
