The History Non-Fiction Group is voting for the Oct-Dec Quarterly Group read. We've had several interesting books nominated. Please take a look and vote if you'd like to join in.

Into the Wild, thanks for the reminder!

I just realized how few books i've read, but then more slowly hit me at odd hours - the books i forgot about. Cool site, Mike. Maybe it'll motivate me to read faster. I think I've been reading Lord of Chaos for about 2 months and that's fast for me.

Thanks for your up front advice on World War X. I don't really sensor my kids' reading, but I like to direct them to things they will like AND that don't add to all the cr** in their lives!!

RE: Flitwick--"even the smallest person can shape the fortunes of all.." wait..wrong series! doh!

but Siriusly, i was right all along about Snape. others called me crazy, others said i was downright wrong..but alas! my speculations proved correct! i really got mushy and teary-eyed (?) reading some of it. i fly back to miami on Aug. 13. pittsburgh is going pretty well all in all. but it will be good to see y'all when i get back. :)

MiamiPrice how's it goin'? I have to ask, what are you doing in this photo? The best book that I have read this year, and in the recent past, is Ordinary Heros.

Finished Harry Potter 7 last night. It was the best out of the series by far! very intense..every other page something happened. one of my theories about a certain character were proved correct. but I won't spoil it for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I hope your Bar Exams are going well!

I really liked Blink. I thought it was fascinating discussion of how we use parts of our brain that we are not aware of.

All of Willa Cather's books are great. Have you read "o Pioneers" or "My Antonia"? I have read more books but it takes time to enter them!
