I have been an avid reader ever since I could pick up a book. Mostly I enjoy fantasy novels, but I like science fiction, steampunk, classics, historical fiction, and adventure! I also enjoy reading non-fiction books about art, nature, the environment, pirates, folklore, and any kind of guide books. I received a kindle for Christmas from my... more »

I was just reading your ebook philosophy. I agree, the expensive stuff I can get at the library.

This book sounds pretty cool. Thought you might like it too. In case the link doesn't work it's called Scarlet by A.C. Gaughen. http://www.shelfari.com/books/24077210/Scarlet

Liveship Traders is my favorite. I read the Shaman's Crossing books a couple of years ago--one of my best friends loved them. I liked them, but, like you, not my favorite. Sadly, the Rain Wilds series just aren't living up to my standards.

"Madman in the Mirror" is a story about a man - Henry Johnson - who is raised by a psychopath and forced to watch - even as a baby - his father murder people on a regular basis. He is also abused and brainwashed, turning him into a sociopath. Henry stalks and murders people efficiently - he tells himself that he may be a killer, but he doesn't want people to suffer. He is haunted by hallucinations, including a specter in his mirror that talks to him.

“A.J. is a master at creating word images that remain with the reader long after the book is finished.” Richard S. Friedman

Murder, romance and the paranormal. It is sprinkled with humor. Also contains ghosts, a dog that’s adopted by Henry and a crazy hooded merganser duck. And a baby as his arch enemy.

“It held me spellbound and at attention all through the story.” “Fascinating peek in the mind of a serial killer.” “A most imaginative and brilliant book.”

My new novel Dracula: Hearts of Stone should be available in February or March.
