I find Christmas to be the worst holiday to be away from home. Home can be friends or family, but it needs to be a warm place where they take you in and everyone is in the mood to make a little fuss about the holiday. I miss my family, too. They are on the west coast, I am on the east coast. So I'm being a little grinchy this year. But I send you a big, happy hug for the holidays. (Are Marines allowed to hug?) I'll hold a place in my thoughts for you. Marylyn

    Hi Marylyn,
Just wanted to drop in and say I think about you from time to time. I just finished Thirteen Moons, which I see is on your Random Bookshelf tonight. How do you like P.J. O'Rourke? Peace Kills sounds interesting.

I see you read the witch of portobello. I enjoyed the alchemist but then didn't enjoy some of his others so much. Have been wondering about this one - so you recommend it?

    Hi Marylyn,
We share some like books - A Thousand Splendid Suns, for one. And we also share a name and its unique spelling. I have a sister in-law from Korea. She's a fantastic cook. Hope you get to enjoy the local cuisine there. You have a fantastic shelf.

I had to let you know, I've been trying to track down a book I thought was called "Kizzy" for a while, and IT'S ON YOUR SHELF! It's the Diddakoi by Rumer Godden and I haven't read it for nearly thirty years so thank you!
