"I've never been to a re-enactment but that's one of those things on my to-do list! "Acctually I'm a Cancer - you know, earthmother, crabby to her kids?I've been sewing since I was twelve and interested in history since Jr.High. The 2 seemed to go together and I started making costumes for the love of it and now it is an addition to my business to make historical costumes. The last one being a corset and skit made of red drapery fabric for a pirate wedding, it was the bridal gown!Try www.faires.com for Renassance Faires across the US.I usally attend Celtic, Scottish and Viking renactments.I have 3 non-fiction Celtic books and 22 (and counting) Highland books on the dresser's TBR pile. HIstory should always be fun!

Marilyn, thanks for much for the tip. I will definitely check it out. Since you read so much, I wouldnt hesitate to pick it up. I was reading some of your mail below....I also love Nicola Cornick---she is excellent, and Julia Quinn and Stephanie Laurens.... (I was reading Julia's note). ....And... who are some of your favortie authors and your favorite all time books, if you dont mind me asking....

I see you read Secrets and Sacrifices too. I found it to be an interesting look at the civil war. If you like American historical, try Debra Tash. She has a great Revoluntionary War and the title is escaping me at the moment... I hate it when that happens! Thanks for adding me!

Thanks for the solid recommendation for Letters from Pemberley. I've put it on my wish list. Hope you enjoy my books. Let me know what you think after you've read them; I love honest feedback from readers. Don't be shy; you couldn't possibly say anything more daunting than some of the reader reviews on Amazon! =(:
Hi Marilyn! I see you are a Stephanie Laurens, Jo Bev and Candace Hern fan. Do you read Julia Quinn? My personal Regencies faves are Loretta Chase and Carla Kelly. Other good "newcomers" are Nicola Cornick and Terri Brisbin, who also does medievals. BTW, I've not read any of the Austen take-off books and I see you have Letters from Pemberley. Obviously a convincing continuation?

Marilyn,After all those years fighting over Historical books (on RD), I am curious: what are your top ten books (of all time). I know this is a hard request — but girl - I just gotta know! MaryGrace
Hmmmm.....Marilyn, its sounds like I should also be asking you for your advice!! I'm going to check your shelf more carefully. When you come across interesting things, please let me know. I also like the french nobility...Josephine...Marie Antoinette. and also the Austrian royal family...as wel as British....oh, and the Russian, too. Did you know I have a Queens blog?
Hi Marilyn! Yes, it looks like we have similiar tastes. Stephanie Laurens is so good. I also love the take offs on Jane Austen. If you have a hankering to read a royal book, I can certainly suggest a few.

Thank you, Marilyn. I had so much fun writing Wicked and Sinful. These days I'm working on Everod's story. Lol, he's such a scoundrel!
