  • The Long Good Night: My Father's Journey into Alzheimer's
    • Rated 0 stars

I just read Daphne Simpkins' article - "Confessions of a Recovering Caregiver" in the Caregiver Newsletter - and was impressed by the mixture of witty style with great sensitivity for the hurting caregiver. It was a fast read, anecdotal, interesting to all audiences, and not the usual caregiver only, heavy stuff. If her book is anything like this, it will be fabulous! I just added it to my shelf with intent to read it SOON!

  • A Caregiver's Journey, You Are Not Alone

Linda Thompson is a gifted speaker and author whose books are reaching many caregivers with the support they need. I met her through Terri Shearer at www.homehealthcarebooks.com - a fabulous resource for caregivers! - and for a limited time Linda Thompson will be on teleseminars with Terri. After reading her books, I must know more!

  • Color Me Beautiful
    • Rated 5 stars

It was awesome and enlightening when Carole "color analyzed" me at the Atlanta Professional Woman's Club in the 1980's - and the insights I learned about color have held me in good stead through the years. They DO make a significant difference in how you look and how you are perceived!. This is a "must" book for anyone who wants to present well!

  • The 1997 Joy of Cooking
    • Rated 5 stars

This was the first engagement present I received in 1973, and it's been the most used and most valuable. Sure I have Larousse Gatronomique, fabulous seafood, specialty, and ethnic cook books, but there's always a reason to look something up that's clear, concise, practical, and works! Unless you're a professional chef (and perhaps even then), you never outgrow your need for Joy!

  • This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness
    • Rated 5 stars

"This Present Darkness" and "Piercing The Darkness" each is a compelling tale which depicts with incredible accuracy the real world of the spirit driving and impacting the dramatic events witnessed in the natural. The story details may be fictional, but revelation of what is going on in the "unseen" is incredibly accurate, even to the point of some real names of real spirits, not to be spoken aloud without first pleading the Blood. No, it's not crazy. Although the details of our lives differ, the thrust is exactly and I and others have witnessed and lived. Don't read these books if you don't know Jesus, and don't read them if you are faint of heart. But if you are firmly grounded in the Word, then this will both entertain and enlighten you! Exceptionally well written!

  • The Power of Your Words: How God Can Bless Your Life Through the Words You Speak
    • Rated 0 stars

As God SPOKE the world into existence, so He warns us and instructs us in the power of words. Proverbs is full of such instruction. This is an excellent book on a most vital subject.

"Out of the mouth flow the issues of life." Make it a blessed life for you and your loved ones!

  • Captivating: Unveiling the Mystery of a Woman's Soul
    • Rated 5 stars

The most insightful book I have ever read for insights into our deepest emotions and motivations, the roots of what God made we, as women, to be... how He loves us and finds US captivating... for healing deep within, and from inside out. The book itself is Captivating! I didn't want to put it down, and yet I read, and re-read, and re-read... absorbing... feeling... opening... freeing! To truly understand a man, too, I'm looking forward to reading "Wild At Heart."

A MUST READ each - for both men and women - to know ourselves fully, and to understand, appreciate, and relate to the opposite sex in a wholesome, fulfilling way.

  • The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus
    • Rated 5 stars

A former legal editor interviews others as he investigates the case for Christ - with irrefutable evidence that Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ (Messiah), IS real, and He is who He says He is! I know from my own personal experiences, intense miracles, and fellowship with Him. A wise friend said: "A man with an argument or philosophy cannot beat a man with an experience." Lee Strobel does a great job of proving just that!
