Hi MantisFist, thank you for joining us at the Good Reads Cafe. Please introduce yourself to our Cafe members. Tell us about your favorite books and genres, and upload some of your books you liked. Look through our headings for your Discussions. I am trying to get us good writers in this group but it is quite a task. People write a book and don’t have it properly reviewed. They might be one star writers but they believe they are a new literary discovery. They believe in Democracy in writing and that is an insult for the few good authors. Most have junky content.
I write suspense/thrillers but we have writers in many genres, they are on page #2/3. Again, how good they are, I have no idea. We are running continuous Bookatlons with book prizes, visit them.
As far as ‘well known’ writers go, public is being set up by big publishing houses. Their main interest is in our money, not in the quality of works they publish. I read a number of books/writers in the past and found very few worth reading. The various writers are too much ‘specializing,’ most unable to write something different from their usual-usual. Many are on drugs, writing under the influence. Very few have a lot of imagination to begin with and so they pander to poorly educated young, to their ethnic group, even to their religious association. Finally, who can invent a story after a story and be good in each one?
Hi MantisFist, join us at a new Shelfari.com group: Good Reads Café
This is a Readers’ and Writers’ group. Open discussions, debates, critiques and self-promotions…
The group is for all readers and for all good authors. All book genres are welcome. I write thrillers based on true events.
