    While I enjoyed this book, I felt like I just didn't underderstand it completely. I'm sure this has to do with growing up in the U.S. and not in the authors home country. The premise though was very intriguing and has definitely made me want to research the subject further.

  • Blackbird: A Childhood Lost and Found

    One of the best autobiographical books I have ever read. It is told from the perspective of the young Jennifer Lauck, which I found so beautiful. Children have a special honesty about them and I felt like she really regressed into her childhood self and let the story be told without all the societal hangups us adult selves have. It would make a beautiful movie...

  • Paula Deen: It Ain't All About the Cookin'

    This is a very candid story and make me love Paula Deen even more! It was honest, touching and funny and I recommend this book to anyone who loves sassy southern women with real "grits"!
