I currently live in Attleboro, MA. I love to read and in addition to books, I also enjoy reading Time, Smithsonian and Readers Digest.

My favorite kinds of books are probably sci-fi fantasy. I loved Hobbit Lord of the Rings. also a huge fan of The Wheel of Time series by the late Robert Jordan. I also find I enjoy political books... more »

Hi, Marguerite ... I see you've recently read Pat Conroy. I'm trying to get the Southern Literature group up and running again, so if you're at all interested in another group ...

If I follow baseball it is Blue Jays for me too. I watch Canadian hockey all the time and watch canadian tv every night, much better than American tv. (never used to be that way either). I live just a couple miles from the border).I would think you could get some Quebec radio in your neck of the woods? At night?
I will try to catch the name of the store.

On my way home form work, there was an advertisement on the radio for a store on Bloor St., selling Downton Abby housewares and furniture.Plates, silverware, lamps, the works! Love to surround myself in those household items.

Elizabeth is the Mother that had the spanish flu. I hate waiting to see what happens to bates too! My prediction is Anna will discover she is pregnant, they will fight for his freedom and he will be freed before the baby arrives. I am hoping for a happy outcome with him.

I didn't realize it was the last episode either! I am glad to hear abt Season 3. Shirley MacLaine? Is she the gradnmother in New York, maybe?
Very good season! I thought Elizabeth Masterson;s character was a bit loopy this year.I thought she was a stronger lead last year. IS it me?

We enjoy talking about fun stuff but not afraid to tackle some serious issues as well. If it ever gets boring just mention chickens and it gets everybody going again :)

Marguerite, howdy do. Did you know that Halo and I created a group called Slippery Fish Island? We like to talk about good books, movies and music. Oh yeah, Stephen is there and we like to tease him as well. Wiley is in it and he joins in on the group. You have a good eclectic taste and if you are looking for another group to grumble, ponder, pontificate and laugh, you might want to consider us. We would enjoy having you. If not, well, you are only getting half the jokes I tell Stephen.

This book was loaned to me by a co-worker who saw the same exhibit you did. What an emotional book!!!! Quilting is my new hobby and I listen to audio books while quilting. I am obsessed. Anyway, she has let me hold hers until the new year and I promised to take good care of it. I have never seen anything like it. I wish I had been able to see these quilts in person. They almost breathe. There is so much life in these pictures. Although at first glance, they appear primitive - the determined manipulation and exact precision used to make the quilts work is incredible. What treasures they are!!! Thanks for writing and as always: Happy Reading.

I'm glad it seems to be becoming a lot more human now, so I haven't dropped it, though only a quarter way through. Hopefully the predominant human themes in the investigation will continue to keep me reading. We all have a darker side of course. Problem is I'm listening to an audio and the reading from the point of view of the killer makes it even worse when the narrator seems to feel it is important to "act" out the part...

Thanks for noticing and commenting. Yes, am reading it. Put it off for very long because I found the murderers point of view sections in Along Came a Spider a bit nauseating. No change there :( If there's very much in this one I might drop it. The tone is too voyeuristic in those sections :( Hopefully the detection parts will overcome this. Happy reading you too!
