Oh dear! Did turn into something paranormal? Anything interesting? What fun!

How are you doing? I have to go read some of your blog. I miss your twisted sense of humor. Well not entirely miss it since I have a twisted one too. LOL

Your welcome for the dusting. Do you need industrial size dusting?

    :-)

It was a very bad book. It was the latest release here in paperback, and because the previous one (Step On a Crack) was actually not bad, I bought it (and it was also a Q book for RIT!) I think the next one out is You've Been Warned, and that has a similar reputation to Quickie so I might avoid it.

I do know what you mean about relentless churning. I got loads of Pattersons at New Year (given away by someone) and of the 10 or so I've read this year, only a couple have been worth reading. And most of the recent stuff (particularly the last Cross book "Cross" has been not good at all.

The one redeeming feature is that they can usually be read pretty quickly, so go ahead and get them out of the way!

I'm on safer ground now with The Overlook, the latest Bosch book by Michael Connelly in paperback here.

Hi Ma! Thanks for the input. I finished Stupid & Contagious yesterday morning. Well, I absolutely LOVED it. I don't usually read things like that but it was so light and refreshing, I just couldn't put it down. I loved the movie quotes between "chapters" Also being the same age, the cultural references were dead on. I even passed it on to my brother to read. He rolled his eyes at forst but then I reminded him of all the chick flicks he dragged ME too. lmao
    Anyway,
Needless to say I ran to my local B&N yesterday and picked up "Forget About It". I too bought it on the basis of SAC. I read too it wasn't as good as SAC but I will definitely let you know what I think. Do you have anything else along the same lines of Cranes work you could recommend?
    Thanks!
    Laura
PS I read "Water for Elephants" last week and loved that as well. I read your review and totally agree about putting it off for so long because it was about a circus. It was a beautiful story and I just pray the movie does it justice. It's a very visual story. It has the potential of being an amazing movie.

Thanks for the information. I really haven't been reading much, but I also haven't wanted to try to add up points for the challenge. I confuse myself a bit too much. :\ Oh well. I certainly look forward to a new challenge though. I'm in more of a reading mood again so I'll probably start picking up some pages again. Even though I haven't been posting pages I've been checking the group regularly. I enjoyed posting some beach reads even though I didn't post those for points either.

I have a question regarding the beach read recommendations. I just finished "Twilight" which two members posted as beach read recommendations. I've stopped posting results for this challenge because I haven't been reading much at all. Will this book count for them even though I'm no longer participating? I wanted to ask you before I let them know that I had finished one of their recommendations.

Hi Ma, I was just looking at your TBR shelf, and see you plan to read Lisey's Story. I just finished it, and enjoyed it. Seems to me that SK depends less and less on monsters, and more and more on stories that explore the well of creativity and personal relationships. Or maybe I'm just noticing that more as I get older. Anyway, I liked it. I hope your summer is going well.

Hi Ma--Thanks for your note about We Need To Talk About Kevin...I've not actually read it yet (I'm too lazy to sort my books into "read" "not read" and "reading" categories). It was recommended to me, so I picked it up. I"ll let you know what I think about it when I'm finished.
