As an aspiring novelist and engaged reader, I believe there are 3 kinds of people in this world, those who love reading, those who are "study" readers (reading for a purpose), and those whom altogether hate and avoid reading anything at all. Most people read to get only facts they need, such as news, trends, and opinions and its easy to do in our dot com society. But to read a book that can take you to a place completely out of your element, to learn something unexpected and unplanned, or to experience something emotional about your own individuality that you never would have known otherwise, this is the essence of reading!
As a reader with a writer's eye, at times you focus on the authors point of view and the inclined technicalities of writing so you remind yourself just to simply focus on enjoying the book and get involved with the characters. My favorite kind of reading is both fiction and non-fiction, from a variety of genres, including memoirs, christian, literary fiction, 19th century victorian romance, and suspense & thrillers. I love to travel and want to continue exploring other cultures in this world (if God allows). With a love for books, I have the chance to travel to destinations further and deeper, to the unrevealed places of the heart and mind.
I've been collecting books for a few years now and want to expand my library to a single room made just for reading, writing and studying for myself and my family. Some people like to collect things meaningful to them such as art, paintings, stamps, antiques... I'm interested in art, but I ♥ books, and not just the borrowed ones from the library. My agenda is to collect books for both myself and my son in English and Spanish. :)

To know someone's library is, in some measure, to know that person's mind.
