I am a SAHM of two kiddos, one husband, four cats, and a naughty little pug. I prefer the term professional domestic engineer. I married my high school sweetheart and we moved off from TX to IL. I much prefer the snow to the heat! In 2005 we were blessed with a little boy we named Rory. @008 found us blessed again but this time with a girl we... more »

The breed series sounds like a winner then. I'll have to add those to my book collection.

No, I've heard of the series and read some of the synopsis but never bought any of the books. Good investment? I like erotica, but not so much without a plot.

One guy for real life, but everyone can look in fiction. I'm really reading more Noir right now. Series are great in that you can really develop your characters over time, but I know it must be difficult to keep things fresh. I read True Blood will be released sometime in May. You're right, I'll enjoy not having to wait a whole week between episodes. The Sookie books are among my favorites. Have you tried Charlie Huston's gritty vampire series? No romance but some interesting vampire mythologies.

I still have to order One Silent Night. Heard mixed things about it. Nothing wrong with mixing your book choices up a bit. I'm going through a bit of an erotic book phase at the moment. Oh er!!! LOL I've raised my eyebrows a bit I have to admit. Finished Daughers of Terra, so so, with sex thrown in. Guy and guy, then guys kidnap girl, then guys get it on with restained girl who enjoys it reluctantly!!!!!! You have to bury your "as if" thoughts once you start it. You know how space mermen are. LOL. Yeah that's what they are. LOL

I agree Laurel K. seems less interested in the Blake series, and seems to put more effort into the Merry Gentry series. Both characters are dealing with life changes in the form of inpending motherhood or worrying about pregnancy, so I wonder if these changes along with the inherent difficulty of maintaining a series are the reason her newer stuff seems a little light. I'd like to see where motherhood takes them. Wish I could watch "True Blood" suffer from lack of the right channels. Looking forward to dvds release. Crusie is very popular and I don't think I can ignore the challenge of a phallic water tower. What do you think of Patricia Briggs?

Sounds like you are a lucky Irish gal. Thanks for the response. I like to dip into the occasional Romance myself, since they left the panting virgins who almost have sex behind and let the girls have a little fun. Laurel K. & Charlaine are my favorites. Any recommendations?

Yeah life does get in the way of the muse, as does reading.

Favourite Dark/Were Hunters would be Vane, Wren, Kyrian, Zarek, Ash of course and Julian. I knew J is not technically a dark hunter but who cares. He was so hot. LOL Vane, Wren and Ash are my all time favs.

Glad you see what I mean. It lacked magic, or a struggle. Hard to pinpoint exactly why it leaves you wanting. Even when he almost killed Tory it was anticlimatic, as was their love scene. Ha ha ha.. Then again it could be that the first part of the book was so graphic it's difficult to get past that to see the lurrrrvvve!!!
I expected more is all. Vane's story is one of my favourites and I thought Ash would surpass that easily. Still enjoyed Ash's story though. I might re-read the second part and see if I feel differently now.

    What's up next for you?

I know, it's easy for us non writers to say, why didn't you do this, or that. I am trying to write myself and believe me it is far from easy. Sometimes you tell someone your idea and they're like, why don't you do this, and you're like, no that's not what I want. So it is the authors story and I respect that. Sometimes I'd say publishers, and editors probably cut a lot out that the fans would be happy to read. But, what do I know. LOL

Yeah, but I like a fight, not 50 pages of will they, won't they, just a bit of good old foreplay before they get down to business. LOL. With Acheron and Tory, they met, kind of hated each other, and then got together and there was something missing, some chemistry, or spark that the romance lacked. I can't put my finger on it exactly but it was devoid of a vital ingredient. The sex wasn't explosive like in other Dark Hunter stories. When you read it I'll be eager to know your feelings on the subject.

Who are your favourite Dark/Were Hunters?

    That would be telling. LOL

He does get his HEA, but something about it just didn't appease me. With the other Dark Hunters and their love interests (most, not all), I felt content with how things ended up. With Acheron Kenyon didn't devote enough time to the modern day side of the story.

When the story left how he became what he is and what he went though, and flipped to modern day it felt rushed. I wanted more of a struggle between Ash and Tory; more of a fight for their love. It was good, but not fabulous. Then again I don't know if I'd ever be happy with what she could have written. I so love Acheron and expectations can be hard to satisfy. Still a good read though.

I don't think there is a second Acheron book. The story is divided into two sections, his sister's Rissa's diary, and Acheron's story. I think it was originally going to be two books but then it was released as one.

I have heard of C.L. Wilson. She was recommended to me by someone. I like a bit of romance. I'll have to look it up.

Sounds painful. Great, the joys of getting old. We have so much to look forward to!

Everyone has those moments of pessimism, but I do try to be positive. I am a happy person probably 99.9% of the time. LOL

Haven't read any of the Dream Hunter Series. I love the Dark Hunters so do you think I should give the dream boys a go?

Acheron is good. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't as good as I imagined. I had high expectation and when you do sometimes things can never live up to them. Tell me what you thought of it when you read it.

I never haerd of the Tairen Soul series. What is it about and who wrote the series?

I just got, The Irish Devil yesterday through PBS. My husband and I are going on a cruise in a week, so I think I will take it with me as one of my books. I'm so looking forward to reading it. Thanks for suggesting it. I also will probably take The Duke and I and probably a Dark Hunter book. My goal is to have all of the Dark Hunter books read up to Acheron by March. What have you read lately that has been really good?

Let me know what you think about the Dream-Hunter book once you're finished. I'm debating with myself whether I should read one or not. Reviews are not so great, but I once read a novella in an anthology that I loved. So I'm hoping maybe the full novels aren't so bad either.
Immortal warrior is on my TBR list for the winter challenge. Glad to see that you rated it with 5*.

Ok, I joined PBS, and already two people have requested books that I posted. This should work out great for my book budget. Thanks for suggesting it.
