I'm always looking for new recommendations, so feel free to send them my way! I seem to like a little of everything.
My ratings:
***** - Excellent and highly recommended. I would rather read this again than eat homemade chocolate chip cookies. Read this book- unless you don't like the genre at all, in which case... don't read it-... more »

Hey, I think I'm on and now writing you a private message! Thanks for the tips and this great way to organize my books. I have quite a few family members that will really get into to this site as well! Lets hear it for "Shelfari and for the YMCA!"
    Thanks again - Katie

I attempted to read the Handmaid's Tale, but for some reason I could not get into it. Maybe it was Atwood's writing style or something, and it was YEARS ago. So I should try again. I used to stop reading books when not into them, but now 95% of the books I start I finish, even if I struggle to get into or enjoy the book. I am going to take some books from your list too. Oh, and I want to have over 100 books on my shelf too! I only need to add about 70 more for that to happen . . .

YAAAAAAAAY! You did it again!! that was it. I really liked that book. I would recommend it for sure. It was a pretty quick read too. I think I saw that they were going to make a movie out of it. I'll have to see it. I always seem to like the book better. so that's two, let me see if I can think of more...

Yay! you're so right! OK, here's another one. three generations of women, the oldest is a healer/self taught doctor and the youngest is following in her grandmother's footsteps. It takes place in the late 40's--early 50's I want to say. in the beginning of the book it describes how the grandmother and her husband (in their youth) saved a hanged black man. He gives her a good luck charm for saving his life. i feel like the name of the book is related to this good luck charm but I can't remember. any ideas??

Good try! yes, it's psychology related. nonfiction. well here's another one. a sort of love story about these people who live in an old mining town. the title has "Knees" in it....I think it was an oprah book club book.

OK! There are a couple, but I'll start with one. This one is Sybil-like. It is about these twin girls that go through a pretty horrible childhood. It's about their lives and what happens to them after they grow up. ...is that enough to go on?

Well, for the amount of scientific journals I'm reading (about 1hr/day), you'll be hard pressed until my first paper here at Yale sees the light of day. I do read several magazines - but alas, they aren't considered literature by most standards! I'm sure that more books will pop back into memory as I think about adding to this site.....

I know isn't it crazy?? It must be a Sagittarian thing or something! Yes, I loved Ender's Game, I thought it was very cool. Talk about a book that takes you to another time and place, that's definitely one. Since you showed me this page, I realize that there are books that I've read that I just can't remember the names of and it's so frustrating! I can tell you all about the story line, etc, but the name and author escape me. I think that when I go to the book store now I will be more aware of my reading history and I'm sure I'll run across a book that I don't have on my shelfari and think "I HAVE TO add that one!!" This is really fun, I must say!
