"I don't know what I want but I know it's not this" was the start of my 'business' reading! Funny to see it back on your shelf. I had thrown it away and forgotten all about it. After that came "The Pathfinder". I got that title from that book. Ah, memories. :)

    Hi Lee:
I like the Influencer because of the clarity of the ideas and the actions you can take. I have found it very helpful as influence becomes more and more important as the world of command and control evaporates like so much hot air!

I wholeheartedly recommend Influencer if you want to actually change the world around you. The best thing is that it's not just a bunch of assertions, but based on solid empirical research just like Good to Great and Built to Last. It's full of insight in what actually works.

    Hi Lee,
i'm Carol D. O'Dell, author of Mothering Mother: A Daughter's Humorous and Heartbreaking Memoir. I see that we have some common ground. I was born in Fllorida, but was adopted at the age of four and and raised in Atlanta--lived there most my life--now I'm in Florida--Amelia Island area.
I'm also a public speaker--my focus is also professional women in their "sandwich generation" years--my book is about what caregiving does to your life, head, heart, and relatioships. It's told in vignette/story style but also captures the very real issues of our day.
I'll be coming to Atlanta in October for some major booksignings, talks, etc. (I speak at Alzheimer's/caregiving/
medical conferences/groups as well. I'll check out your books--pronto!
If you're interested in a review copy of Mothering Mother, I'll be glad to send one your way.
    Thanks!
    Carol

    Hi

Sorry for the delay getting back to you I have been out of town.

    Try the following

    Power Speak-----Dorothy Leeds
Speak and Grow Rich----Dottie Walters and Lily Walters
Getting Business to come to you----Paul and Sarah Edwards (Not on speaking but good advice)

I do not know if you are a member of the National Speakers Association but if not join your local chapter. Listen to the speakers they have and heed their advice. Membership is worth every penny.

I hope I am not teaching my grandmother to suck eggs with this advice. I am just trying to be of help.

I have just read your profile. Looks like I am.

If you want to keep in touch come to me through my web site

    All the best

I'm going to go with my most recent favorite: "Water for Elephants". I typically like the legal thrillers, but this was just such a great story.

    Hey there! (warning! I'm a G.R.I.T.S, I say "hey" and "ya'll !)
I liked Angels and Demons too! Better than Code. It's being made into a movie too! I just hope Tom Hanks plays the lead again.
hmmmm...mindless adventure...haven't read alot of that, but I'll let you know if I run across something.
I know how you feel about finishing what you start. I used to have the same problem, but now, if I put a book down and haven't picked it back up in 2 weeks time, I just stop reading it. Life's too short, and there are waaaaay too many really GOOD books to read to waste time on a dud.
    have a great weekend!! --Claire
