As an avid reader and aspiring writer, I find this site pretty nifty.

    Thanks for a candid description of Atonement, I think I'll skip the book (mostely because of lack of reading time... I had to give up Labyrinth half way through because of that AND because I just couldn't get into the story...) and just watch the movie, hopefully this week-end.

    And thank you for the Pink Carnation recomendation!! It does look a realy fun read.

    Sorry for the late response, but I have been away on holiday for the last two weeks.
    I will definetely check the movie of The Virgin Suicides out. I probably will read The Girl with a Pearl Earring in the near future, but I have The Virgin Blue by the same author already on my to be read pile, so I think I will read that one first.

    Hi there, so you lived in the Netherlands for a while. I live in Hendrik Ido Ambacht since two years myself, which is a small town near Rotterdam. Before that I used to live in Gorinchem nearly all my life, which is somewhere below Utrecht. So where did you live in the Netherlands than?

    About the Dante Club, it has been a while ago. I am a bit of a thriller fan myself, and in that area it was a bit dissapointing. But furthermore it was an interesting read. I have his Poe Shadow on my TBR pile as well, but I haven't gotten around to it just yet.
    I haven't read The Handmaid's Tale, but I have heard a lot about it. I liked The Blind Assassin a lot, and I also read Alias Grace by her. I am thinking of reading The Robber Bride as well. I know it, I am also a big bookworm, and there are so many books and so little time.
    I loved The Virgin Suicides. I don't remember seeing the movie yet. I am always a bit scared, that it doesn't measure up to my expectations. But maybe I might check it out soon.

    I noticed you have Girl with a Pearl Earring on your shelf. Is it any good?
