HiMay i have a place in your friends list.
If you like Chick Lit, I'd recommend Camy Tang's Sushi for One? Its hilarious as well as a fun romance. She's also on Shelfari...Camy Tang.Right now I'm reading Life, Libby, and the Pursuit of Happiness. So far it is also a great Chick Lit!
Hi LadyPuzzler, I agree that there are many good CF writers, and I have read the books by those authors you mentioned. But, have you tried to get many of them at the library. They do carry some, but not nearly enough, and I have read most of the ones they do have.
My favorite Christian authors are Karen Kingsbury, Robin Jones Gunn, Tracie Peterson, Neta Jackson, Judith Pella, Janette Oke, Colleen Coble, and Kristen Heitzmann. My newest favorite is Nikki Arana. She's even here on Shelfari and one of my friends. Her books cover controversial subject matter that really gets you thinking. I'm not usually into that, but her first book that I read really had me hooked from the first page. So, did I give you enough names to chew on there?
Hi there. Thanks for the friendship request. Are you reading anything good right now? I'm just about to start Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
I know what you mean about missing out on some of the books you wished you had read as a child. I would love to have read the Anne of Green Gables and Little House. I didn't even hear of them until my girls were reading them. I am going to look for the ones you just mentioned, also. I read Because of Winn Dixie when it came out and enjoyed it thoroughly. Now I watch the DVD with my granddaughter. And, I am reading the new Harry Potter with my youngest daughter. So fun.
Do you remember the books that you first read as a little girl? The ones that still give you that "feeling"...I don't quite know how to explain it, but sort of "it doesn't get any better than this" feeling. For me, I was in fourth grade and someone gave me a Grace Livingstone Hill book. I know they are incredibly unrealistic and idealistic, but I devoured them.
100 books this year, hmmm. Makes me think I need to start making a list. I read a lot and I read in between tasks, too and during. I have been known to read while I dry my hair. I hate down time.
Oh, good, I will look for it. Thanks for the recommendation.
Oh my gosh! You have read 100 books in one year? That is remarkable! Way to go!
Hey, thanks for your recommendation in the Christian Fiction group. I love Lori Wick! Looks like we have a lot in common outside of Shelfari as well! I love puzzles (just got back into them now that my boys are old enough to know to leave them alone) and am thinking of finishing my ELED degree after my boys start school! I look forward to "seeing you around" on Shelfari!
Hi LadyPuzzler! For a new gal you sure get around! I just went to three of my groups and saw your posts. Nice to have you here. :) This is an official welcome to the Christian Fiction Group, and an invite to the Cook's Books group if you enjoy cooking. Hope you enjoy Shelfari.
